A Thorn Among Roses

this week, i'm paying tribute to play makeup ...bc i had a full conversation with my friend, karen {molly's momma} and coffee and well, it was all bc of the mad skills of our girls...and the uber fabulous play make up. sure, there was a mess... there was icky sticky gooey slimey junk all over the place...and it even had an interesting odor. it amazes me that my girlies love makeup so much...paige and i are pretty light on the makeup side of things...and we are both far from girly. but b and jk LOVE makeup...smelly and gooey, but mostly, sparkly! {{for the record, i own no hot pink glitter blush...who thinks of these things???}} the best part of sharing the makeup with friends...it's all gone in one sitting and there's no fighting for it later. :]

a few things me and the fam DID NOT do this week... i DID NOT totally embarrass p when her bf was over saturday and i mentioned the word "underwear". p DID NOT word "i hate you" to me with a huge smile...and r and i DID NOT laugh hysterically all weekend about it. and no, we are NOT that childish. b DID NOT tell me that we needed to go and get a frog or two. when i asked why she DID NOT tell me that frogs eat flies and we wouldn't have to worry a bit about getting rid of them ourselves. sofie is NOT laying on my chest right now and feeling icky. she DID NOT sleep 13 hours last night and take 4 naps yesterday...and i am NOT going to call the doctor. **update...she DID NOT just puke all over me...booo. poor thing.** ryan DID NOT play like a little boy in the back yard last night using the blower to blow a sand bucket in the air and all around. b DID NOT score 2 goals in soccer this week...and one of them was actually for her team! you all DID NOT support the ...

it's season 2 of soccer for brooke...and wow, what a difference a year makes! remember last year? she was "that kid" who screamed her lungs out on the field and cried bc it wasn't fair that everyone didn't have their own ball during the match. yep...that was fun. this year, b is all over the place. she loves loves loves soccer and is begging for more and more practices...and that makes my heart sing. brooke's adhd is not getting in the way...and that is jsut awesome...she's running and playing and being part of a team...and to boot, she's really doing well. she's scoring goals...not jsut for the other team, but for her team too this year!!! and there's still time for sitting on nana's lap in the off times, but most of the time, she's wanting to be in the mix. so, hello soccer...and have fun brooke. i'm really proud of you! paige is an artist...she has been since she was very young. she's always loved art in all forms. she created a sculpture over the last 2 weeks...and it is amazing!!!! you know she must love it...she actually allowed me to take a pic of her WITH the art...notice the lack of the forearm in front of her face! {the best part is, it's panty hose, wire, thick paint with a fancy name and normal paint} sadly, as sisters will do, jada decided to get angry and crushed paige's art about an hour after i took these shots. i can not tell you how terribly sad that makes me....and i promise, she is in major trouble. {lesson...put the art up and away from jealous sibs} head over to 3 bayB chicks and look at all kinds of other kids and adult art!
