A Thorn Among Roses

i sent out a few more letters to fams who need prayers and support. and in the midst of it, i am growing in my life of prayer...and i hope bringing a little smile to some faces. sweet little andie grace is healing very well from her heart surgery...her parents, brooke and duane, have become blogland friends of mine quickly as we are praying together. i sent them a little note this week too. and if you think a little note or a drawing from a kid doesn't make a difference to a fam that is sitting with their kiddos in the hospital, take a look here . {did i tell you guys i got the chance to make andie's blog button a few weeks ago?? sooo much fun!} the johnson's whose son, cody, is playing with jesus now...could really use a little note of encouragement the Johnson's 8105 Blandsford Drive Manassas, VA 20111 and a new little bundle of sweetness and joy that i met up with this week is jonah ...his parents, matt and patrice, have already got one angel and little jonah ...

you all did something amazing this week...i did the labor part. you donated $250 to neuroblastoma research in honor of cora and tuesday!!!! your comments {over the 250 goal} allowed me and hubs to make that donation...and educate lots of folks along the way. not only that, i have found some new kiddos and fams that could use prayer. so that's one of the things i did this week. i become and advocate for gwendolyn strong and her family who is fighting to get a petition signed to pass a bill quickly for a quick resolve to SMA, spinal muscular atrophy. so go on over and do a little helping out...i know you want to because you all want to help out so much. and it only takes like 30 seconds...seriously! the other thing i continued this week is writing letters to parents of kiddos in the NICU and PICU. i know it's not gonna change the world, but i figure a little glimpse of hope and a smile from someone outside of your hospital world can make a little difference...and diligentl...

one of my fav things that i love to do every morning is to grab coffee and blog. in an effort to remain faithful to my personal time with the Lord, is to sincerely spend time every day praying for people i don't really know, but have met in blog land. there are so many prayer needs...and so many blessings...and i can't keep up. i just have to admit it. so here's what i do. i have my index prayer cards...i pray over the names. the lord knows their need...i thank god for his abundance of blessings in my life. i pray for strength and peace and perseverance for those struggling...for wisdom of those making decisions...for a moving of god's people and for the love and sacrifice of jesus to be prevelent in the midst of pain and questions and decisions. another thing i started to do this week, is send cards to the families i am praying for...i decided that a little uplifting note can go a long way in a time where you sometimes can feel very alone. when my sofie was in...
