A Thorn Among Roses

i started following kayleigh freeman's blog when she was only a few months old. adam and aimee became part of my daily prayers and i just loved that little girl! so when they did the "give 4 kayleigh" drive, we were soooo in. i sent in a few things for aimee to be pampered and made a few donations for them as well. kayleigh at that point had been in the NICU 8 months...she was born 3 months premature...1lb 1oz! as a momma of a NICU baby, i just ached for the whole fam. about a week later, i got an email saying i had won package 3...i really didn't even know i had entered to win anything when i donated, so i was certain it was a joke. turns out, it wasn't. so now, this week, me and hubs {and brian and karen} are spending the week in the condo in sc that i won on "give 4 kayleigh"...and we wanted to honor a fabulous family, who simply tries to honor god in everything they do...even when kayleigh got her wings a few months ago, and continues to still!...

if you haven't met aimee and adam freeman yet, you are missing out on some amazing peeps. they have 3 kiddos...2 girls and a boy...and miss kayleigh, the baby, was a 1lb miracle. they have the faith and strength and endurance...and they are grieving the loss of little kayleigh...and they need our prayers. kayleigh anne freeman is home with jesus now...and we honored that precious baby girl with a pink balloon release... it did not go as planned. i explained to the girls that kayleigh had passed away and she was with jesus now...and they asked a few questions then they grabbed the balloons...that i blew up {problem #1} and gave them a toss. so in honoring a sweet and precious little baby girl, we chased the balloons and frolicked in the yard instead, knowing kayleigh was playing for the first time...with no pain and no fighting for breaths and no sorrow...just playing. so we did too. in an only god sorta way, one balloon floated away...as if to remind us that he remains. god rem...

a few things me and the fam DID NOT do this week... ryan DID NOT ask brooke to say "please" in french and he'll get her blanket. her response..."i did". after my fab new hair cut, this convo DID NOT take place... jk: mom, why your hair is like gray? mom: i'm getting old. b: mom, you are not old. jk: yes, she is old. b: stop. she is not old. jk: she's "old enough." i DID NOT win a 7 day stay in an ocean front condo by simply donating to kayleigh freeman 's give4kayleigh. no one was more surprised than hubs who found out in mexico... i DID NOT wake up at the crack of stinking dawn on jk's bday to fresh bake blueberry muffins for her breakfast and to take to school for her treat. sleep is for wimps. paige DID NOT walk into the hanging scale for veggies at the grocery. she and i DID NOT laugh until we almost peed ourselves. paige DID NOT "find" her fav sweatshirt hiding on a hanger in the closet! amazing stuff. stinking sne...
