not me monday

a few things me and the fam DID NOT do this last week...

paige DID NOT have 5 games this week...and we DID NOT have many, many dinners at the ball field.
i DID NOT leave my purse in my grandma's hospital room friday night.  hubs DID NOT walk back up to the 6th floor, grab my purse and walk out proud with a hot, red steve madden mom bag over his shoulder.

brooke DID NOT say "this is the worst day of my life. i hate pink pants. you made me wear pink pants and then they are too small and my panties are showing."
me: "too big, brooke. your pants are too big in the waist."
b: "whatever mom.  anyway, this is exactly what i'm talking about. the worst day ever.  i hate pink pants that are too big or too small or whatever."

sofia DID NOT run in a small circle at b's elementary school while she was in speech saying, "i'm running. i'm running.  i'm running in a circle. in a circle. i'm running in a circle."

after a game, paige DID NOT toss her ice bag in the front seat, exactly where brittany was sitting...she DID NOT hit brit smack in the face.  paige DID NOT scream in embarrassment and start apologizing immediately.

sofia DID NOT go into a tizzy one morning saying "i not want orange juice. i WANT COFFEE!!!"  i DO NOT know where she gets that passion...nope.

b DID NOT announce to me one morning at the bus stop while i was waiting..."go on, mom.  i can do this whole bus stop waiting thing by myself.  for pete's sake, i'm in kindergarten!"
jada DID NOT say, "'my friend did this thing w her hand.'
me: 'what friend?'
jk: 'she had a polka dot dress, a head and hands'

i DID NOT stop in the kindergarten pick up line to see brooke air guitaring her umbrella like a total rock star.
ryan and i DID NOT watch food inc last week and we DID NOT eat everything organic and buy all pasture fed meats for the fam.  we DID NOT almost puke every time the kiddos mentioned hamburgers.

jada DID NOT insist on playing the quiet game in the car on the way home...she DID NOT lose every single time bc she forgot she requested we play the quiet game.

OMG. Your life makes mine look so tame! Seriously, your girls are adorable and funny, which I especially love. Gotta love a girl who can describe someone as "a girl with a head and hands." I am so happy I found this blog.

That is so funny. I love that Jada's friend has a polka dot dress a head and hands. Good things to have. LOL
I love that your little girl is already concerned about the very real problem of VPL, visible panty lines. It's alive and well, but I don't support thongs for that age, though they do make them. I have 3 boys so I will never have to worry about the age appropriateness of tween butt floss. :)

Thanks for swinging by and making my SITS day so spectacular. Your time and words mean the world to me.

Lots of yummy love,

random acts...GNO

over at GNO, there's a few of us who decided to challenge ourselves last week to perform a random act of kindness.   i talked with my girls and hubs about what we could do... we reserve some funds each month out of our giving to put towards a current or urgent need that we find.  i think it's important to let the kids see how we give as family...and they should be part of that decision too . as we were talking, and eating chinese...come on, you know there would be eating...i open my fortune cookie.  and this is it!! i was out getting a few minutes of alone time and decided to pay hubs forward by getting jiffy lube to do the oil change.  while i was there, i remembered how hard it was being a single mom.  i remembered that the little things, like oil changes, suddenly became bigger things and honestly, more expensive things.  *light bulb!!!* thomas rang me up for my oil change and asked if they had any scheduled appointments that i could pay for.  he looked at me a little odd......

tuesday tribute---for tuesday

go blog yourself has been on my reading list for quite sometime...and so i really came to love little tuesday whitt and her whole sweet fam and became involved in praying for them in tuesday's battle with that stinky neuroblastoma . tuesday's parents are totally amazing...they inspire me! although tuesday went to play with jesus not so long ago, there have been so many people that are changed because of the courage and strength and honesty of the whitt family. on the day of celebration of tuesday's life, a number of folks who couldn't make it out to the funeral, took their kids on a 'wagie ride', which was one of tuesday's fav things. we all posted up our pics...shared our experiences with each other...and hugged our kiddos a little tighter. my kiddos wagie ride is here . from that precious little tuesday and her honorary wagie ride, a blog spawned...of course...and it is dedicated to nothing more than, in their words, "to keep track of lives touc...

one lucky chick

i have been super blessed with a man who not only loves and adores me, but thinks his daughters are all queens deserving of the most love a daddy can give.  in this family, and with other special needs families, there are days that make being fully engaged, well, let's just say difficult. poop, for instance...it's still an issue in our house.  with kids 20, 12, 10, and 7, you would think that we were well past the poop problems, but we are not.  ASD (autism spectrum disorder) is a beast when it comes to poop. and here's a little insight on me...i'm a gagger, meaning the harsh smell of poop or puke makes be puke.  but the amazing hot hubs, he's a beast on the clean up.  poop on the walls...he scrubs it.  poop pasted on the toilet...he cleans it up.  poop on the shower curtain...he washes it.  and he does it without being nasty.  (he doesn't like it...but he does it.) so, when people see our fam and think it's all amazingly perfect and cu...
