not me monday

a few things me and the fam DID NOT do this week...

i DID NOT spill an entire sweet tea on the floor inside the house as i was bringing it in to drink after just one very tasty sip.

b DID not have blue chalk all over her lips and tongue. when i asked if she'd put chalk on her face, she DID NOT say "jada held my tongue out of my mouth, held me down and put chalk all over my tongue." i DID NOT put her in time out for liying, although the story was pretty good.
b DID NOT get time out for throwing a flip flop at p when she was told it was time to come in for the night. after time out, i DID NOT ask b to apologize to paige:
b: "sorry paige that i hit you in face with my shoe."
p: "that's ok but it really hurt."
b:"it was only a flip flop. it could've been worse."
me:"tell paige why you decided to throw a shoe at her."
b:" it was a flip flop." then silence.
me:"do you need to go back to time out to remember, brooke?"
b:"no, i just can't think of a good reason right now."
{{paige and i DID NOT start laughing...and almost ruin the punishment...}}
me: "brooke, now hug and kiss paige."
b:"i will hug her but i really, really don't want to kiss her. do i have to kiss her?"
me:"no, you don't have to kiss her, but please hug her and mean it."
b:"ok, i will try. sorry paige. it was only a flip flop."

i DID NOT succumb to the screaming sofie on monday night...i DID NOT put her in the car and drive her around to calm her down...something i have never done with any other child before. she DID NOT calm down less than 2 miles from home and sleep for about 6 hours.

when i asked b where the kool aid stain on her shirt came from she DID NOT say, "its blood...my stinking head exploded."

paige DID NOT graduate from 8th grade...and she is NOT a real freshman now! {are you stinking serious?}
me and the girlies DID NOT eat fast food every day this last week that hubs was gone. sad.

we DID NOT take the kids to the town "festival" on sunday after church where i DID NOT hear the big sucking sound of the money leaving my wallet. rides for toddlers were NOT $3 each and we DID NOT only ride 2 rides and leave.

head on over to mckmama's for some fab not me's...she's awesome!

I love the story about B - they are so funny at that age-so honest. I'm happy you had a nice weekend!!

I DID NOT hang out by the little pool snapping pictures and then play in the sprinkeler with Sophie...I had to teach her how to enjoy it right?? :)

Have a great Monday!!

Haha, great post! My hubs and kids have been out of town all week and I totally DID NOT just watch Judge Judy and eat Panera everyday instead of painting my house like I should have.

I love kids. And I'm glad that I didn't have to deal with that one.

I like to think that your kids are just plain brilliant. The flip flop AND the chalk stories both had me laughing out loud.

Oh, to be a fly on the wall in your house... :)

I love the flip flop story. My sister threw a rock at my head once that went through the drywall. If only she had been as creative.

random acts...GNO

over at GNO, there's a few of us who decided to challenge ourselves last week to perform a random act of kindness.   i talked with my girls and hubs about what we could do... we reserve some funds each month out of our giving to put towards a current or urgent need that we find.  i think it's important to let the kids see how we give as family...and they should be part of that decision too . as we were talking, and eating chinese...come on, you know there would be eating...i open my fortune cookie.  and this is it!! i was out getting a few minutes of alone time and decided to pay hubs forward by getting jiffy lube to do the oil change.  while i was there, i remembered how hard it was being a single mom.  i remembered that the little things, like oil changes, suddenly became bigger things and honestly, more expensive things.  *light bulb!!!* thomas rang me up for my oil change and asked if they had any scheduled appointments that i could pay for.  he looked at me a little odd......

tuesday tribute---for tuesday

go blog yourself has been on my reading list for quite sometime...and so i really came to love little tuesday whitt and her whole sweet fam and became involved in praying for them in tuesday's battle with that stinky neuroblastoma . tuesday's parents are totally amazing...they inspire me! although tuesday went to play with jesus not so long ago, there have been so many people that are changed because of the courage and strength and honesty of the whitt family. on the day of celebration of tuesday's life, a number of folks who couldn't make it out to the funeral, took their kids on a 'wagie ride', which was one of tuesday's fav things. we all posted up our pics...shared our experiences with each other...and hugged our kiddos a little tighter. my kiddos wagie ride is here . from that precious little tuesday and her honorary wagie ride, a blog spawned...of course...and it is dedicated to nothing more than, in their words, "to keep track of lives touc...

one lucky chick

i have been super blessed with a man who not only loves and adores me, but thinks his daughters are all queens deserving of the most love a daddy can give.  in this family, and with other special needs families, there are days that make being fully engaged, well, let's just say difficult. poop, for instance...it's still an issue in our house.  with kids 20, 12, 10, and 7, you would think that we were well past the poop problems, but we are not.  ASD (autism spectrum disorder) is a beast when it comes to poop. and here's a little insight on me...i'm a gagger, meaning the harsh smell of poop or puke makes be puke.  but the amazing hot hubs, he's a beast on the clean up.  poop on the walls...he scrubs it.  poop pasted on the toilet...he cleans it up.  poop on the shower curtain...he washes it.  and he does it without being nasty.  (he doesn't like it...but he does it.) so, when people see our fam and think it's all amazingly perfect and cu...
