not me monday

a few things me and my fam DID NOT do this last week...

while doing our family devotion after dinner, sofie DID NOT scream and moan and cry through the entire prayer about being thankful in all things. {stinking kids}

when jada saw a bridezilla on tv smash a bday cake out of anger and jealousy, she DID NOT say "why would anyone want to do that to a beautiful birthday cake?" and talk about it for at least an hour.

jada DID NOT say, "mommy your breasts are a lot bigger than daddy's. it's a good thing you are nursing sofie and not daddy."

sofie DID NOT ingest dog food over and over in spite of me putting up the food bc the stupid dog will not eat her food from the dish, but DOES NOT continue to leave bits all over the floor for later!

sofia DID NOT walk right into the window at noodles & co thursday because she saw a bird outside...and we all DID NOT laugh hysterically.

after church, we all got into the car and DID NOT see a totally inappropriate hat in the window of the truck parked in front of us. so inappropriate, i, of course, DID NOT get out the camera to prove we saw it. {never leave the house without a camera}

me and hubs DID NOT do an improv for the HS service and totally embarrass paige beyond belief {yes} with our rendition of my teen years...you know the "but he loves me, mom".

i am NOT donating $1 for every comment i get tomorrow on my blog to neuroblastoma research in honor of tuesday whitt and cora paige mcclenahan. so you should def NOT tell your bloggy friends and you should also def NOT come back tomorrow to make me poor!

so head on over to mckmomma's to join in the fun...all the cool kids are doing it! i promise!

I'll bet everyone in the place laughed when she ran into the window! Poor Paige...parents can be so embarrassing! Good for you and keep it up!

I'm sure your husband was VERY proud that your breasts are bigger than his. Somehow I don't think that breast size is something men aspire to. =D

Happy NMM!

The bad hat and church pic was so funny! Wish I knew what was on the bad hat!!

There is just too much goodness and humor crammed into this post. I am not even sure where to begin.

The HS service part may very well be my favorite. You and your husband rock. Anyone who can not only laugh at themselves, but also embarass their kid is someone I want to be friends with.

Why aren't we following you? Let's take care of that, shall we?

When the eldest chicklet was a baby, my mom had to put HER food in a bowl on the floor like the dogs so she wouldn't eat the dog food! :)

How sweet of you to do that for Tuesday & Cora Paige.

We had a glass door at our house when I was growing up and we always laughed at each other- everybody ran into it at one point or another!

Ha ha ha ha ha!!! LOVE that she noticed your breast were bigger and love even MORE that she thought it was so much better that you nursed and not hubs. Seriously!! That's flat out priceless!
I always knew you had a heart of gold!
I think my Spiderman would literally cry if he saw a cake destroyed. That boy LOVES cake! And walking into a window is totally something my Ladybug would do...and she is 13! But SUCH a blonde.

random acts...GNO

over at GNO, there's a few of us who decided to challenge ourselves last week to perform a random act of kindness.   i talked with my girls and hubs about what we could do... we reserve some funds each month out of our giving to put towards a current or urgent need that we find.  i think it's important to let the kids see how we give as family...and they should be part of that decision too . as we were talking, and eating chinese...come on, you know there would be eating...i open my fortune cookie.  and this is it!! i was out getting a few minutes of alone time and decided to pay hubs forward by getting jiffy lube to do the oil change.  while i was there, i remembered how hard it was being a single mom.  i remembered that the little things, like oil changes, suddenly became bigger things and honestly, more expensive things.  *light bulb!!!* thomas rang me up for my oil change and asked if they had any scheduled appointments that i could pay for.  he looked at me a little odd...

sadness

on the way home from DD {{bc apparently there was NO preschool today for jk...it's no prob, really...we just rushed around and scrambled and got in the car and then when we got there and there was no school...well, there were tears...thus DD}} , there came a moment of sincere sadness in my heart. jk: " mommy, i want to look like brookie" "why sweetie? you are the perfect jada" jk: "i don't like my brown skin. i want peach skin like brookie" i just sank. does that not make ur heart want to break? a 3 yo is struggling already with her skin being different. then, this happened: brooke: "jada, god made you and he loves you. he does it all right the very first time" then, i think my heart grew three sizes . jada threw a big smile up on her face and said, "ok. god loves me" now, if we all could just do that. god loves us...he doesn't make mistakes...he makes perfect works of art. sometimes there are scratches in the art.

tuesday tribute---for tuesday

go blog yourself has been on my reading list for quite sometime...and so i really came to love little tuesday whitt and her whole sweet fam and became involved in praying for them in tuesday's battle with that stinky neuroblastoma . tuesday's parents are totally amazing...they inspire me! although tuesday went to play with jesus not so long ago, there have been so many people that are changed because of the courage and strength and honesty of the whitt family. on the day of celebration of tuesday's life, a number of folks who couldn't make it out to the funeral, took their kids on a 'wagie ride', which was one of tuesday's fav things. we all posted up our pics...shared our experiences with each other...and hugged our kiddos a little tighter. my kiddos wagie ride is here . from that precious little tuesday and her honorary wagie ride, a blog spawned...of course...and it is dedicated to nothing more than, in their words, "to keep track of lives touc
