when i was a kid, my bro, jeremy, and i were perfect in december because we always had the threat of santa seeing us being bad and not getting gifts.
we had an angel as our tree topper...the angel was the one who reported to santa. if santa got a bad report, the angel flew away...and if the angel wasn't on the tree, thn santa wouldn't make the stop at our house.
we would sit at the tree and beg the angel to not report our arguing...i c
an even remember jeremy crying, and beign a great big sister, i was laughing!
turns out that hubs thinks that's a little harsh and grumpy...and so i'm not allowed to do the whole "threat" thing.
nana {my mom} apparently 'talked to santa' so he penned a letter to all 4 of my girls.
the letters all started with a reminder of some bad behaviors he'd been told and ended with a "don't fight and i'll see you on christmas eve". seemed like a super fun idea...right?
look at the excitement on their faces...a letter!!!
and then...the doom and happiness erupted.
jada didn't hear any of the "be good or else" part of the letter and brooke only heard the "if you aren't good i won't bring you any toys" part. how can two kids be so different???
brooke starts sobbing with anxiety about all her past transgressions...
jada was dancing with elation that santa is coming with gifts.
and sofia honestly, could have cared less and started eating the paper and saying "ho ho ho".
such is the holidays in this house...did i mention that paige was less than thrilled and not at all amused by her letter telling her to clean up her room and do the dishes when asked? oh yea, she walked right to the trash can and tossed it.
guess who's getting coal for christmas from santa? hmmmm....

What we have been doing though is. my husband works at the mall and since Santa is at the mall, we tell her Daddy's gonna have a talk with Santa if she continues. She gets all paranoid and says "noooo!! I'll be good!!" LOL
If I could only get my two year old to stop knocking the whole tree down, maybe I could get the plan in motion.
Sofia and Paige's reactions are the best! HoHoHo, trash!
With love from SITS!

We do letters each year. I just found an old one in which Santa writes.." Your dad says no lizard Nick, no reptiles at all"..fast forward 11 yrs later..Nick is 18 and got his very first snake....Take that SAnta...
Esp funny about Paige. She's JUST like my older kids (we do something similar with letters to the kids) and I have actually put coal in their stockings ;)
I AM that mean. LOL
