not me monday

a few things me and fam DID NOT do this last week...

jada DID NOT tell ryan this weekend, "dad, i think my stomach is very grumpy". NOT creative at all.
paige and i DID NOT take brooke to get her hair trimmed up on sunday...she DID NOT get 5 inches cut off...and somehow look like a girl, not a little girl anymore...i DID NOT contemplate adding the hair back on!

brooke DID NOT tackle one of the neighbor boys and take him OUT! she DID NOT have him crying and begging the other boys to help him. i DID NOT laugh...and think that paybacks are hard.
ryan DID NOT get tummy sicky icky on sunday...and brooke DID NOT bring ryan a trash can to place next to the bed "just in case" he couldn't make it to the toilet.

i DID NOT chase the trash truck around the cul-de-sac...nope...not twice! wouldn't dare.

i DID NOT get studio lighting for my photography business...and DID NOT have sooo much fun learning new tricks and fun stuff!!
i DID NOT teach 2 services on sunday...with a cold...then come home to take care of ryan with his icky, sicky tummy...i then DID NOT do the "taking care" while napping next to ryan. seemed appropriate since everyone else was napping too!

ryan and i DID NOT wake up from the nap finding brooke and jada eating potato chips and carrots in our bed watching tom and jerry. we DID NOT have to sweep the entire bedroom floor bc there was NOT half a bag of chip pieces all over the place. i DID NOT almost regret the nappage...
i DID NOT get a phone call on sunday from p's softball teammate that said, "paige just got hit int he face and there's a lot of blood. get to the diamond." i DID NOT jump in the hooptie...head to the fields. on the way, coach DID NOT call and say it was not a nose thing, but a forehead thingy. there was not a cut on her forehead and blood all over her shirt...and we DID NOT have to peel the bandage off carefully so as to not remove her eyebrows from the location that coach bandaged her up. ooops.

i DO NOT have a flipping zit on my lip that will not the flip go away...i am NOT 40 years old and should not have to deal with this dumb thing...for a week! seriously!

november is national adoption awareness month

myth:
2/3 of all people considering adoption FEAR that birth parents{biological} will try to take the child back.

fact:
once parental rights are terminated, there is no further recourse for gaining custody of the child(ren). the only way to make this different is if it can be proven that someone was coerced, under the influence, or a birth parent was not informed per state laws of the child.

formal adoption hearing times vary from state to state, but in indiana, it's about 90 days to the formal adoption hearing where all the formalities, such as name and birth certificates are completed.

OMGOSH! The lighting in your studio!!! How cool!

LOL about the zit! Isn't that the worst??? Women who are mothers should NOT have to deal with that! LOL
Where do you get all of your energy?? I need a little bit of it...just a little bit.
I hope Paige is ok!

I'm about hacked at the zit thing. At our ages! Some things you should just get to grow out of, you know?

And I didn't know you had a photography business. Why didn't I know that? Awesome.
What is up with zits this week? I have a bunch, too. YUCK!

Great not me's!

random acts...GNO

over at GNO, there's a few of us who decided to challenge ourselves last week to perform a random act of kindness.   i talked with my girls and hubs about what we could do... we reserve some funds each month out of our giving to put towards a current or urgent need that we find.  i think it's important to let the kids see how we give as family...and they should be part of that decision too . as we were talking, and eating chinese...come on, you know there would be eating...i open my fortune cookie.  and this is it!! i was out getting a few minutes of alone time and decided to pay hubs forward by getting jiffy lube to do the oil change.  while i was there, i remembered how hard it was being a single mom.  i remembered that the little things, like oil changes, suddenly became bigger things and honestly, more expensive things.  *light bulb!!!* thomas rang me up for my oil change and asked if they had any scheduled appointments that i could pay for.  he looked at me a little odd......

tuesday tribute---for tuesday

go blog yourself has been on my reading list for quite sometime...and so i really came to love little tuesday whitt and her whole sweet fam and became involved in praying for them in tuesday's battle with that stinky neuroblastoma . tuesday's parents are totally amazing...they inspire me! although tuesday went to play with jesus not so long ago, there have been so many people that are changed because of the courage and strength and honesty of the whitt family. on the day of celebration of tuesday's life, a number of folks who couldn't make it out to the funeral, took their kids on a 'wagie ride', which was one of tuesday's fav things. we all posted up our pics...shared our experiences with each other...and hugged our kiddos a little tighter. my kiddos wagie ride is here . from that precious little tuesday and her honorary wagie ride, a blog spawned...of course...and it is dedicated to nothing more than, in their words, "to keep track of lives touc...

one lucky chick

i have been super blessed with a man who not only loves and adores me, but thinks his daughters are all queens deserving of the most love a daddy can give.  in this family, and with other special needs families, there are days that make being fully engaged, well, let's just say difficult. poop, for instance...it's still an issue in our house.  with kids 20, 12, 10, and 7, you would think that we were well past the poop problems, but we are not.  ASD (autism spectrum disorder) is a beast when it comes to poop. and here's a little insight on me...i'm a gagger, meaning the harsh smell of poop or puke makes be puke.  but the amazing hot hubs, he's a beast on the clean up.  poop on the walls...he scrubs it.  poop pasted on the toilet...he cleans it up.  poop on the shower curtain...he washes it.  and he does it without being nasty.  (he doesn't like it...but he does it.) so, when people see our fam and think it's all amazingly perfect and cu...
