leaf me to play

as much as i hate to see the summer go, the fall leaves makes me so happy...especially when the kiddos are running and jumping and playing in them! it's so much fun...

here's a typical day in the life of our playtime...
wondering where the other two are? well, b is usually busy tackling the neighbor boys and paige is doing teen things like texting and sleeping and watching tv...she's not so much into the sliding on the playset anymore!

go and have some fun in the leaves...it's gonna be a great weekend!

november is national adoption awareness month

want a staggering statistic? how about this...

each year, one in five children (26,517 in 2006) who are available for adoption turn 18 (age out) and leave foster care without finding a family or being adopted.

so what can you do? well, you don't have to adopt kids to help them. you can be an advocate for adoption in your community and with your local government; you can become a foster parent; you can become a child advocate in the courts; you can be a big sister/big brother; you can pray for kids awaiting adoption...it's not always being the one to adopt the kiddos that make a difference.

don't get me wrong...these kids need families...but adoption should come from the heart, not ever from guilt.

BEautiful leaf pictures. I love that you are sharing so much about adoption with us and making us more aware. I also love what you wrote on the bottom, because adoption is not for everyone, but when God places that desire in your heart it makes for the most wonderful journey.

I miss the fall leaves! It's been in the 90's here in AZ! In November! Yowza! Awesome photos of the kiddos!

Great post!

I wish adoption wasn't made so difficult!!! I know so many people who have been jumping through hoops for ages and don't get anywhere!!

What a fun playtime!! Fall is usually perfect for outdoor play here, but most days this fall have already been SO cold... too cold to play outside!
