snackage

one of the things that makes weight loss or food management hard for me is, well, food.
i love me some good food. i don't mind working out. but i need my double chocoloate fudge in a waffle cone every now and then!
i grew up celebrating anything good with food...birthdays, grades, vacations.
and when sad things happened, we ate our feelings...funeral dinners, loss of the boyfriend, glosing first chair, getting benched in a game.

so as i take time on tuesday to pay tribute...i think of food. seriously.
these onion rings...they made my heart skip a beat when they were sat on the table. ahhh...greasy, deep fried onions with a gooey dipping sauce. yum.the night at the pier...the sunset was gorgeous and perfect...the homemade ice cream was more than awesome!
the golden egg...any place called "the golden egg" is a greasy spoon, but what a fun place! brian got a cinnamon roll...we all did the big sigh.
and my heart sings for an ice cold diet coke from the countain...not kidding...i have it in my schedule every day for one {makes kindergarten drop off super fun}.
our fancy smancy dinner was perfect...we started with the onion rings...i know...shut up! karen got king crab legs and was on cloud 9! the food was delicious!!!!
so today, i pay tribute to food that makes me smile...and all those people who have to work really hard to put that greasy grin on my face. thank you food...and farmers and distributors and servers and cleaners and, well, anyone who gives me delish onion rings!!!

i'm hungry now...i need some hush puppies!!

I love food even more now that I have a better grip on my behavior with it. LOL

Those onion rings made me want to jump through this computer screen. Seriously.

I hear you - food and I go back a long way. It's the whole reason that I now have a relationship with Weight Watchers. It's not as fun, let me tell you.

I wish I could grab one of those crab legs off the screen!

Food is so good. Too good! That's why I need help now. I need a real food intervention.

Help!!!

By the way I have a friend who always orders a diet coke with her food, because she doesn't want to "waste" her calories. What? I will never understand this.

Hugs and Mocha,
Stesha

random acts...GNO

over at GNO, there's a few of us who decided to challenge ourselves last week to perform a random act of kindness.   i talked with my girls and hubs about what we could do... we reserve some funds each month out of our giving to put towards a current or urgent need that we find.  i think it's important to let the kids see how we give as family...and they should be part of that decision too . as we were talking, and eating chinese...come on, you know there would be eating...i open my fortune cookie.  and this is it!! i was out getting a few minutes of alone time and decided to pay hubs forward by getting jiffy lube to do the oil change.  while i was there, i remembered how hard it was being a single mom.  i remembered that the little things, like oil changes, suddenly became bigger things and honestly, more expensive things.  *light bulb!!!* thomas rang me up for my oil change and asked if they had any scheduled appointments that i could pay for.  he looked at me a little odd......

tuesday tribute---for tuesday

go blog yourself has been on my reading list for quite sometime...and so i really came to love little tuesday whitt and her whole sweet fam and became involved in praying for them in tuesday's battle with that stinky neuroblastoma . tuesday's parents are totally amazing...they inspire me! although tuesday went to play with jesus not so long ago, there have been so many people that are changed because of the courage and strength and honesty of the whitt family. on the day of celebration of tuesday's life, a number of folks who couldn't make it out to the funeral, took their kids on a 'wagie ride', which was one of tuesday's fav things. we all posted up our pics...shared our experiences with each other...and hugged our kiddos a little tighter. my kiddos wagie ride is here . from that precious little tuesday and her honorary wagie ride, a blog spawned...of course...and it is dedicated to nothing more than, in their words, "to keep track of lives touc...

one lucky chick

i have been super blessed with a man who not only loves and adores me, but thinks his daughters are all queens deserving of the most love a daddy can give.  in this family, and with other special needs families, there are days that make being fully engaged, well, let's just say difficult. poop, for instance...it's still an issue in our house.  with kids 20, 12, 10, and 7, you would think that we were well past the poop problems, but we are not.  ASD (autism spectrum disorder) is a beast when it comes to poop. and here's a little insight on me...i'm a gagger, meaning the harsh smell of poop or puke makes be puke.  but the amazing hot hubs, he's a beast on the clean up.  poop on the walls...he scrubs it.  poop pasted on the toilet...he cleans it up.  poop on the shower curtain...he washes it.  and he does it without being nasty.  (he doesn't like it...but he does it.) so, when people see our fam and think it's all amazingly perfect and cu...
