not me monday

a few things me and the fam DID NOT do this week...

brooke DID NOT give hubs a great big hug when she found out he bought her pop tarts per her request...she DID NOT follow it by "dad, you are the best dad EVER!"jada DID NOT touch my stomach and say 'look at mommy's big fat, but cute belly'. i have NOT killed myself with working out for the last 3 weeks...and DID NOT want to lay down and die.

brooke DID NOT howl at a dog near the park in 'dog language'. she DID NOT say 'hello. you have cute fur. you look beautiful like a princess dog', all in dog language, of course.

jada DID NOT swing in circles outside screaming, 'i'm not jacked up mommy'. I DID NOT know immediately that it was the very first sign of a much needed nap!!i DID NOT do this post so stinking late on monday night that i do NOT feel completely stupid and late...i do NOT hate being late for things!!!

jada DID NOT overflow the toilet at 6am after having a post flu-like episode. i DID NOT stay in bed while my amazing hubs cleaned up the mess on the floor and plunge the toilet. i am NOT eternally grateful for a super fab hubs!

ryan DID NOT get totally shocked installing java's invisible fence bc he DID NOT forget the neighbors also had a fence while holding the dog's collar. paige and i DID NOT almost pee ourselves laughing when he jumped 5 feet in the air when he got shocked!sofia DID NOT figure out that she could walk to the very edge of the street and put her foot right up against the line without being "in" the street. it is NOT driving me crazy that she's 20 months old and already thoroughly laughing at testing her limits...and i DO NOT laugh a little myself each time she becomes more and more independent.

random acts...GNO

over at GNO, there's a few of us who decided to challenge ourselves last week to perform a random act of kindness.   i talked with my girls and hubs about what we could do... we reserve some funds each month out of our giving to put towards a current or urgent need that we find.  i think it's important to let the kids see how we give as family...and they should be part of that decision too . as we were talking, and eating chinese...come on, you know there would be eating...i open my fortune cookie.  and this is it!! i was out getting a few minutes of alone time and decided to pay hubs forward by getting jiffy lube to do the oil change.  while i was there, i remembered how hard it was being a single mom.  i remembered that the little things, like oil changes, suddenly became bigger things and honestly, more expensive things.  *light bulb!!!* thomas rang me up for my oil change and asked if they had any scheduled appointments that i could pay for.  he looked at me a little odd......

tuesday tribute---for tuesday

go blog yourself has been on my reading list for quite sometime...and so i really came to love little tuesday whitt and her whole sweet fam and became involved in praying for them in tuesday's battle with that stinky neuroblastoma . tuesday's parents are totally amazing...they inspire me! although tuesday went to play with jesus not so long ago, there have been so many people that are changed because of the courage and strength and honesty of the whitt family. on the day of celebration of tuesday's life, a number of folks who couldn't make it out to the funeral, took their kids on a 'wagie ride', which was one of tuesday's fav things. we all posted up our pics...shared our experiences with each other...and hugged our kiddos a little tighter. my kiddos wagie ride is here . from that precious little tuesday and her honorary wagie ride, a blog spawned...of course...and it is dedicated to nothing more than, in their words, "to keep track of lives touc...

one lucky chick

i have been super blessed with a man who not only loves and adores me, but thinks his daughters are all queens deserving of the most love a daddy can give.  in this family, and with other special needs families, there are days that make being fully engaged, well, let's just say difficult. poop, for instance...it's still an issue in our house.  with kids 20, 12, 10, and 7, you would think that we were well past the poop problems, but we are not.  ASD (autism spectrum disorder) is a beast when it comes to poop. and here's a little insight on me...i'm a gagger, meaning the harsh smell of poop or puke makes be puke.  but the amazing hot hubs, he's a beast on the clean up.  poop on the walls...he scrubs it.  poop pasted on the toilet...he cleans it up.  poop on the shower curtain...he washes it.  and he does it without being nasty.  (he doesn't like it...but he does it.) so, when people see our fam and think it's all amazingly perfect and cu...
