not me monday

it's that time of the week when you find out a few things that me and the fam DID NOT do this last week...

brooke DID NOT tell me that java {new puppy} won't quit biting her nip-pels. when i questioned her about where she was biting, she pointed to her finger and said, "here, on my nippp-kkkels". i DID NOT lose it.

i DID NOT meet my mom, dad, bro and his girlfriend {with girlies in tow} for dinner...when we met up after at mom and dad's, i DID NOT end up leaving with 2 dogs, 4 kids and a plastic push toy. seriously. i might kill my brother...it's def all his fault.
i DID NOT bust brooke during her nap hiding a gameboy {circa 1999, i might add} under the covers. she DID NOT tell me she was "just keeping it safe from the new dog".

ryan DID NOT make the flight just fine back from CHINA to only get stuck AGAIN in nyc. listen, nyc, i want my husband and if you want to battle, sister...bring it on!brooke DID NOT say, 'java is cuddling paige. it's so cute, i can't stand it.'

sofia DID NOT discover the great joy in the java's kennel. she DID NOT get stuck either...and i DID NOT take pictures of the entire adventure.at the store, brooke DID NOT start tearing up bc i was ready to go. she DID NOT say, 'i was not crying. i had to work to get those small black things out of my eyes its better now. sure glad i fixed that.'

it's not me time...head to mck mama's...and say a thank you prayer for stellan's non-svt role and new meds.

random acts...GNO

over at GNO, there's a few of us who decided to challenge ourselves last week to perform a random act of kindness.   i talked with my girls and hubs about what we could do... we reserve some funds each month out of our giving to put towards a current or urgent need that we find.  i think it's important to let the kids see how we give as family...and they should be part of that decision too . as we were talking, and eating chinese...come on, you know there would be eating...i open my fortune cookie.  and this is it!! i was out getting a few minutes of alone time and decided to pay hubs forward by getting jiffy lube to do the oil change.  while i was there, i remembered how hard it was being a single mom.  i remembered that the little things, like oil changes, suddenly became bigger things and honestly, more expensive things.  *light bulb!!!* thomas rang me up for my oil change and asked if they had any scheduled appointments that i could pay for.  he looked at me a little odd......

one lucky chick

i have been super blessed with a man who not only loves and adores me, but thinks his daughters are all queens deserving of the most love a daddy can give.  in this family, and with other special needs families, there are days that make being fully engaged, well, let's just say difficult. poop, for instance...it's still an issue in our house.  with kids 20, 12, 10, and 7, you would think that we were well past the poop problems, but we are not.  ASD (autism spectrum disorder) is a beast when it comes to poop. and here's a little insight on me...i'm a gagger, meaning the harsh smell of poop or puke makes be puke.  but the amazing hot hubs, he's a beast on the clean up.  poop on the walls...he scrubs it.  poop pasted on the toilet...he cleans it up.  poop on the shower curtain...he washes it.  and he does it without being nasty.  (he doesn't like it...but he does it.) so, when people see our fam and think it's all amazingly perfect and cu...

tuesday tribute---for tuesday

go blog yourself has been on my reading list for quite sometime...and so i really came to love little tuesday whitt and her whole sweet fam and became involved in praying for them in tuesday's battle with that stinky neuroblastoma . tuesday's parents are totally amazing...they inspire me! although tuesday went to play with jesus not so long ago, there have been so many people that are changed because of the courage and strength and honesty of the whitt family. on the day of celebration of tuesday's life, a number of folks who couldn't make it out to the funeral, took their kids on a 'wagie ride', which was one of tuesday's fav things. we all posted up our pics...shared our experiences with each other...and hugged our kiddos a little tighter. my kiddos wagie ride is here . from that precious little tuesday and her honorary wagie ride, a blog spawned...of course...and it is dedicated to nothing more than, in their words, "to keep track of lives touc...
