beauty and thanks

this week, i'm paying tribute to play makeup...bc i had a full conversation with my friend, karen {molly's momma} and coffee and well, it was all bc of the mad skills of our girls...and the uber fabulous play make up.
sure, there was a mess...
there was icky sticky gooey slimey junk all over the place...and it even had an interesting odor.
it amazes me that my girlies love makeup so much...paige and i are pretty light on the makeup side of things...and we are both far from girly. but b and jk LOVE makeup...smelly and gooey, but mostly, sparkly!

{{for the record, i own no hot pink glitter blush...who thinks of these things???}}
the best part of sharing the makeup with friends...it's all gone in one sitting and there's no fighting for it later. :]

I loved play make up as a kid!

I think it's a rite of girlhood or something. It's also something that I missed because I would have died before putting on makeup when I was little.

I don't do make up, but my girls both love it. Maybe because they are both theater girls. Not sure but the play makeup gets used alot over here. cute pictures.

Cute tribute! Your kids are absolutely adorable! And I don't say that on every blog I go to...just so ya know! ;) Adorable!

Thanks for visiting our blog, too!
Can Baby Boo go to your house to have a makeup playdate? We have white carpet at our new house and so Baby Boo will be deprived. Very cute!

Saw at SITS that you have sick kids. Thought I'd drop by and offer moral support.

I hope everyone feels better soon.

Isn't pink glitter the best? I loved make-up when I was little, too. Now I hardly ever wear it.

Playing dress up and putting on makeup is just part of having girls.

Besides everything is better with glitter!

random acts...GNO

over at GNO, there's a few of us who decided to challenge ourselves last week to perform a random act of kindness.   i talked with my girls and hubs about what we could do... we reserve some funds each month out of our giving to put towards a current or urgent need that we find.  i think it's important to let the kids see how we give as family...and they should be part of that decision too . as we were talking, and eating chinese...come on, you know there would be eating...i open my fortune cookie.  and this is it!! i was out getting a few minutes of alone time and decided to pay hubs forward by getting jiffy lube to do the oil change.  while i was there, i remembered how hard it was being a single mom.  i remembered that the little things, like oil changes, suddenly became bigger things and honestly, more expensive things.  *light bulb!!!* thomas rang me up for my oil change and asked if they had any scheduled appointments that i could pay for.  he looked at me a little odd......

one lucky chick

i have been super blessed with a man who not only loves and adores me, but thinks his daughters are all queens deserving of the most love a daddy can give.  in this family, and with other special needs families, there are days that make being fully engaged, well, let's just say difficult. poop, for instance...it's still an issue in our house.  with kids 20, 12, 10, and 7, you would think that we were well past the poop problems, but we are not.  ASD (autism spectrum disorder) is a beast when it comes to poop. and here's a little insight on me...i'm a gagger, meaning the harsh smell of poop or puke makes be puke.  but the amazing hot hubs, he's a beast on the clean up.  poop on the walls...he scrubs it.  poop pasted on the toilet...he cleans it up.  poop on the shower curtain...he washes it.  and he does it without being nasty.  (he doesn't like it...but he does it.) so, when people see our fam and think it's all amazingly perfect and cu...

tuesday tribute---for tuesday

go blog yourself has been on my reading list for quite sometime...and so i really came to love little tuesday whitt and her whole sweet fam and became involved in praying for them in tuesday's battle with that stinky neuroblastoma . tuesday's parents are totally amazing...they inspire me! although tuesday went to play with jesus not so long ago, there have been so many people that are changed because of the courage and strength and honesty of the whitt family. on the day of celebration of tuesday's life, a number of folks who couldn't make it out to the funeral, took their kids on a 'wagie ride', which was one of tuesday's fav things. we all posted up our pics...shared our experiences with each other...and hugged our kiddos a little tighter. my kiddos wagie ride is here . from that precious little tuesday and her honorary wagie ride, a blog spawned...of course...and it is dedicated to nothing more than, in their words, "to keep track of lives touc...
