not me monday

a few things me and the fam DID NOT do this week...

b and jk DID NOT put my dad, papa, in time out for forgetting to put on his seat belt before the car moved on friday. {rules are rules, i guess, even if ur papa}

p DID NOT play 2 softball games this week and earn the game ball in the second game for two ROCK STAR catches! wooo hoooo!!!!

weather in indiana this week was NOT hell on earth. it DID NOT sleet and snow and rain cats and dogs...then end up in the 80s in the SAME STINKING WEEK!

i DID NOT sit and giggle out loud watching PENGUINS with b in bed on sunday morning while the ryan and s and jk were at church. PENGUINS is NOT a super duper cute show...dvr, here we come!

ryan DID NOT go to steinmart to save some money buying a new pair of jeans and call me saying he DID NOT buy a new pair...so proud he got an "off brand", lucky brand dungarees.
seriously...even when the guy is trying to not have uber style he does!!!!

i DID NOT open up the starbucks on saturday morning...i also DID NOT wonder if the nice employees there are def snorting coffee beans bc they were way too awake!

me and b and s went garage sale-ing on thursday during jk's preschool and we DID NOT find b a new bike that was super cheap and fun...and some great justice clothes for 25 cents each! cha-ching!

i DID NOT eat a totino's pizza with hubs in bed at 10:00pm saturday bc my cold had me down and i finally got hungry. hmmmm...wonder why i can't lose the weight?

i DID NOT excuse us from the preschool field trip to the zoo bc it was going to cost $36 for just 2 of us to go and it's with other people's kids, who i don't know and really, don't wanna go to the zoo with. so we are NOT planning a fam day at the zoo next week with our fam membership and there's no bus fee, driver fee or other people's kids.
{sorry...i'm just that mom}

me and paige DID NOT have a super fun girls time out this week at apple
bee's and we DID NOT eat dessert and everything...and laugh until we were sick. the manager there DID NOT come over and look at p then at me, then p, then me and then say, "wow, you two are identical. amazing." and p DID NOT say, "i know, right?". so cute!

i DID NOT get a skin for my new blackberry, which makes it go from way geekoid to way fab-u-lous!!
the stupid dog, gabby, DID NOT fart under our bed one night and
clear out the stinking room. and ryan and i were NOT laughing and choking like jr high kids either...

u need to pray for stellan and the mck family...if u don't know them, go HERE...

I don't blame you on the bus/zoo thing. If I'm going to spend that kind of money I'm going to take my own kids and enjoy the day.

I love not me mondays. I just laugh like crazy...especially at the pizza in bed. My husband and I can't lose weight either, and now I know why. Because we NEVER eat pizza and dessert late at night in bed. NEVER.

tuesday tribute---for tuesday

go blog yourself has been on my reading list for quite sometime...and so i really came to love little tuesday whitt and her whole sweet fam and became involved in praying for them in tuesday's battle with that stinky neuroblastoma . tuesday's parents are totally amazing...they inspire me! although tuesday went to play with jesus not so long ago, there have been so many people that are changed because of the courage and strength and honesty of the whitt family. on the day of celebration of tuesday's life, a number of folks who couldn't make it out to the funeral, took their kids on a 'wagie ride', which was one of tuesday's fav things. we all posted up our pics...shared our experiences with each other...and hugged our kiddos a little tighter. my kiddos wagie ride is here . from that precious little tuesday and her honorary wagie ride, a blog spawned...of course...and it is dedicated to nothing more than, in their words, "to keep track of lives touc...

random acts...GNO

over at GNO, there's a few of us who decided to challenge ourselves last week to perform a random act of kindness.   i talked with my girls and hubs about what we could do... we reserve some funds each month out of our giving to put towards a current or urgent need that we find.  i think it's important to let the kids see how we give as family...and they should be part of that decision too . as we were talking, and eating chinese...come on, you know there would be eating...i open my fortune cookie.  and this is it!! i was out getting a few minutes of alone time and decided to pay hubs forward by getting jiffy lube to do the oil change.  while i was there, i remembered how hard it was being a single mom.  i remembered that the little things, like oil changes, suddenly became bigger things and honestly, more expensive things.  *light bulb!!!* thomas rang me up for my oil change and asked if they had any scheduled appointments that i could pay for.  he looked at me a little odd......

A lesson in NOT BEING STUPID

What NOT to say to an adoptive family... Any of you all that know us know that we are an adoptive family...and for those that don't just look at our pic.  It will be obvious.  We are different sizes and shapes and colors.  That's why we call ourselves the "motley crew".  I know, pretty funny. Here's the deal...a few things that I don't need strangers to say to me, or tell me: 1.   I know that I'm white and my #3 daughter is brown.  I live with her.  Your revelation is not mine.   2.   Yes...some of my kids don't look like me.   3.   My kids have ears and are old enough to understand the stupid things you say.  So don't say "where's she from?"  I might have to kill you if you do.  Consider yourself warned. 4.   Just because an AA kid is adopted, doesn't mean they are from Africa.  Look around...here in the US we have AA people too. 5.   Don't ask me which of my kids are my REAL ones.  Clue...we are all real and so are you.....
