{project happy hearts}

so in honor of tuesday whitt, one of my fav bloggy buds, kacy at chronicles of a mommy, decided to start {project happy hearts}. it's a time to remember those whom we love and cherish and have lost all too soon in our lives.

enter tabitha from aFiveOh4Uplifting. ok, if you don't know this lady, you are missing out. her heart is bigger than jupiter and she gives and gives and gives...and loves every single stinking minute of it!

i'm a do-er in life....i want to DO something when bad things happen...and so does kacey! i love that girl! so she decided that {project happy hearts} would be a great way to show other people in the world we love them, while at the same time, honor little, precious tuesday whitt, who we all prayed so diligently for and who is now dancing with Jesus.

so what did my fam do??? well, first, in the days following tuesday's passing, we did the wagie ride and honored tuesday. you can see my post here.

we also decided that our NICU where sofie was born would be a great place to take up some love.
{this is our sofie in the NICU}when sofie was in the NICU, a homemade, non-hospital meal would be great. so we are making homemade meals for NICU families and staff to enjoy...and placing a little notecard honoring Cora Paige McClenahan on each one.

i jumped on board also with kacey and made the {project happy hearts button}...ok, i know it's not a big deal, but i loved doing it and working with kacey makes my heart smile. the hearts were drawn by paige this summer on the driveway...and because i'm a lover capturing every last thing with my camera, i grabbed the shot. who knew that it would be perfect for kacey's dream? plus, it's just another way to use the skill God gives you to help others. {hello engineering school}

and, i also jumped on board with tabitha, that sweet and loving lady from aFiveOh4Uplifting to do another envelope/giftbag donation to honor Cora Paige. so this week on thursday, sweet tabitha will be delivering 100 packages to the local homeless shelter honoring our sweet Cora Paige.

{cora paige}
and not to be forgotten, the fab etsy shop...can you say shutup!? i bought a messy flower headband...and i'm telling you, i can't wait to see it in person...all the monies earned will benefit Cora's playground. go see the etsy store and read about the playground.

in honoring little cora and tuesday and aiden, i also decided to take up a new adventure and copy tabitha and do a gift bag/envelope donation to the Care Center in indianapolis. the care center is a place where women can go who are battling addictions, who are homeless and need a home and life sills, for women who are escaping abusive relationships. and at the care center, there are children of the women involved. one of my kiddos bmoms lived there for a while, so we are ever so grateful for their love and support. so, we're awaiting our goodies to arrive...and we'll post up the smiles and happy hearts when we see them.

kacey, thank you for your happy heart...and for allowing me to be a do-er...and to try to make a difference by making someone's heart, happy!

That is awesome. WE just sent some cameras to another blogger who is working with the footprints ministry in their hospital. Feels good to help doesn't it?

random acts...GNO

over at GNO, there's a few of us who decided to challenge ourselves last week to perform a random act of kindness.   i talked with my girls and hubs about what we could do... we reserve some funds each month out of our giving to put towards a current or urgent need that we find.  i think it's important to let the kids see how we give as family...and they should be part of that decision too . as we were talking, and eating chinese...come on, you know there would be eating...i open my fortune cookie.  and this is it!! i was out getting a few minutes of alone time and decided to pay hubs forward by getting jiffy lube to do the oil change.  while i was there, i remembered how hard it was being a single mom.  i remembered that the little things, like oil changes, suddenly became bigger things and honestly, more expensive things.  *light bulb!!!* thomas rang me up for my oil change and asked if they had any scheduled appointments that i could pay for.  he looked at me a little odd...

sadness

on the way home from DD {{bc apparently there was NO preschool today for jk...it's no prob, really...we just rushed around and scrambled and got in the car and then when we got there and there was no school...well, there were tears...thus DD}} , there came a moment of sincere sadness in my heart. jk: " mommy, i want to look like brookie" "why sweetie? you are the perfect jada" jk: "i don't like my brown skin. i want peach skin like brookie" i just sank. does that not make ur heart want to break? a 3 yo is struggling already with her skin being different. then, this happened: brooke: "jada, god made you and he loves you. he does it all right the very first time" then, i think my heart grew three sizes . jada threw a big smile up on her face and said, "ok. god loves me" now, if we all could just do that. god loves us...he doesn't make mistakes...he makes perfect works of art. sometimes there are scratches in the art.

tuesday tribute---for tuesday

go blog yourself has been on my reading list for quite sometime...and so i really came to love little tuesday whitt and her whole sweet fam and became involved in praying for them in tuesday's battle with that stinky neuroblastoma . tuesday's parents are totally amazing...they inspire me! although tuesday went to play with jesus not so long ago, there have been so many people that are changed because of the courage and strength and honesty of the whitt family. on the day of celebration of tuesday's life, a number of folks who couldn't make it out to the funeral, took their kids on a 'wagie ride', which was one of tuesday's fav things. we all posted up our pics...shared our experiences with each other...and hugged our kiddos a little tighter. my kiddos wagie ride is here . from that precious little tuesday and her honorary wagie ride, a blog spawned...of course...and it is dedicated to nothing more than, in their words, "to keep track of lives touc
