snowed-in fun

so when the teenager says, "hey we should all go outside and play in the snow together..."
...you get ur booty up and go!

jada just likes to sit on the snow. she's totally not into the cold part or in to sledding or, well, really anything, other than sitting. she does it pretty, though!

a game of chase...seems appropriate!

look at that little red nose!

p, s and b sleeding...look close for sofie int he big pink ball in the middle!

then you get all 4 in one pic, together...seriously amazing!

this is literally the beginning of the end for jada...p talked her into a sled ride down the hill.

the end...p and b are cackling with delight...

and then, it's def the end! tears of fear. she' def not gonna be my bungy jumper!

being snowed in isn't so bad...i mean, we did this all together!! ok, i hate the snow and i hate the cold still..but the fam time is awesome!!!

oh, did i mention that hubs had to get in on the action??

There's nothing more fun than playing in the snow with the family. I'm with Jada though. As much as I like the snow, I hate being cold. I can stand the heat but cold...I get grouchy!!

Cute pictures though. It looks like fun!

Awe...looks like the fam had a blast! We had some snow yesterday, not much to play in but enough to close school for the day & no, we stayed inside bundled under the covers with movies and popcorn!

Awesome. It looks like a great way to spend a snowed-in day. As much as I hate the snow & the cold, there is always something exhilarating and warming about playing in the snow with kids!

So much fun but poor Jada. That is Jake when we go out. He just stand there and cries. Not a big fan of new things.

Oh that almost makes me want it to snow here...almost, I still loath the snow shovel. But that's what kids r for, right?

I wish everyone would quit posting fun sledding pics, because I still have not gotten my kids to the hills yet. Ugh. I am such a bad mother. So much fun for your family. Great pics...love the one of all 4 girls.

Haha! That's awesome!

You are so much better than me because when we had a ton of snow a little while ago, all I did was walk from the house to the car to work to the car and back home (with maybe a few stops in between). LOL

Looks like {almost} everyone had a great time though! Yay for family time in the snow!

random acts...GNO

over at GNO, there's a few of us who decided to challenge ourselves last week to perform a random act of kindness.   i talked with my girls and hubs about what we could do... we reserve some funds each month out of our giving to put towards a current or urgent need that we find.  i think it's important to let the kids see how we give as family...and they should be part of that decision too . as we were talking, and eating chinese...come on, you know there would be eating...i open my fortune cookie.  and this is it!! i was out getting a few minutes of alone time and decided to pay hubs forward by getting jiffy lube to do the oil change.  while i was there, i remembered how hard it was being a single mom.  i remembered that the little things, like oil changes, suddenly became bigger things and honestly, more expensive things.  *light bulb!!!* thomas rang me up for my oil change and asked if they had any scheduled appointments that i could pay for.  he looked at me a little odd......

tuesday tribute---for tuesday

go blog yourself has been on my reading list for quite sometime...and so i really came to love little tuesday whitt and her whole sweet fam and became involved in praying for them in tuesday's battle with that stinky neuroblastoma . tuesday's parents are totally amazing...they inspire me! although tuesday went to play with jesus not so long ago, there have been so many people that are changed because of the courage and strength and honesty of the whitt family. on the day of celebration of tuesday's life, a number of folks who couldn't make it out to the funeral, took their kids on a 'wagie ride', which was one of tuesday's fav things. we all posted up our pics...shared our experiences with each other...and hugged our kiddos a little tighter. my kiddos wagie ride is here . from that precious little tuesday and her honorary wagie ride, a blog spawned...of course...and it is dedicated to nothing more than, in their words, "to keep track of lives touc...

one lucky chick

i have been super blessed with a man who not only loves and adores me, but thinks his daughters are all queens deserving of the most love a daddy can give.  in this family, and with other special needs families, there are days that make being fully engaged, well, let's just say difficult. poop, for instance...it's still an issue in our house.  with kids 20, 12, 10, and 7, you would think that we were well past the poop problems, but we are not.  ASD (autism spectrum disorder) is a beast when it comes to poop. and here's a little insight on me...i'm a gagger, meaning the harsh smell of poop or puke makes be puke.  but the amazing hot hubs, he's a beast on the clean up.  poop on the walls...he scrubs it.  poop pasted on the toilet...he cleans it up.  poop on the shower curtain...he washes it.  and he does it without being nasty.  (he doesn't like it...but he does it.) so, when people see our fam and think it's all amazingly perfect and cu...
