so i wish i could say that in 1988 my fondest memory was the Bush vs. Dukakis presidential election...it wasn't. don't get me wrong, it was the first time i was eligible to vote though and i was really excited.
i have to admit, though, that these are the things i remember more about that year...honestly:
it's nov 4th...so i have to post about voting. come on...it's awesome to have the privilege.
i have never missed a single chance to vote since i turned 18.
i was raised to always vote and always make informed decisions. i take my kids to vote with me...i think it's important they understand the privilege. it wasn't that long ago that women didn't have that right. (btw, August 18, 1920 was when the 19th amendment to the Constitution was passed giving women the right to vote.)
we've come along way ladies...
