cheer-e-o

it's an all girls week here...and we are having a total blast.
we miss r sooo much, but we're making the best of it.

my parents...well, first, they are THE best in the world. if r is out of town, they "show up" to "see the girls"...i love that about them. they have been coming and giving me a break to do alone time with each girl...one a night this week. {jk's night is tonight...taco bell here we come!}

jk made these little ditty's for dad's day at school..and we're saving them for his arrival home

this is the "balloon" she made for a special present...isn't it cute???
{silly me, i thought it was a paper weight! ha!}

there has been lots and lots of coloring...we discovered new coloring pages online this week! hooray for free and easy!!

and for paige and i...competition...we are tied 2-2 now; i'm red by the way. red rocks!

another sign r is gone...newspapers left unread...i think he'll be reading for a week catching up!

the girls miss daddy though...when he calls, this is what sofie does while he's talking on speaker phone...waves and says, "da da da"

every single time jk talks to daddy, she asks if he can come home and put her to bed "in a few minutes"...i love that!

in spite of being a teen...paige loves chatting every night with r. she's making comments like "it's weird that when we eat dad isn't here making jokes" and stuff. i guess that's her way of saying she misses him. cute.

b on the phone is well, hysterical. she gives all the mishap updates and who was in time out for what...and of course, all the animal updates as well. she encourages and when he tries to talk, she says, 'i love you daddy...here's my sister. she misses you'...and off she goes!

we have gotten a little nuts...it may have been after eating way too many choc chip cookies that we made...who knows...
we are diong fine, but we arent quite complete without ALL of us. after all the whole is the sum of all the parts...and all the parts aren't here. boooo.

national adoption awareness month

orphans...
we don't use that word here inthe states because it's not politically correct, but the reality is that children worldwide are orphaned.

according to UNICEF:
Over 130 million orphans and waiting children under the age of 18
have lost one or both parents. (data source)
Over 13 million double orphans under the age of 18 have lost both parents. (data source)

I have a teenage girl and three boys under the age of 2. I wish that my parents would come visit for an hour each evening everytime my hubbie was gone. You are very blessed in many ways.

I empathize with you. My hubby goes away quite often for his job and we always miss him too. The pics were great! And love the story that went with each child.

Looks like you're surviving. I love sequence. I actually thought of bringing it out to teach my kids how to play this week. Of course, I'd teach them in a way that made it possible for me to win everytime!

How lucky are you?? My Dad passed in '04 and my Mom lives exactly 1,745.5 miles away from me and my hubby is gone all the time. Usually M-F, but it varies.

I asked her to come live with us for a year or two and take care of the midget back when I was still working and told her I'd pay her mortgage payment (it was less than daycare cost, isn't that ridiculous?). She said she'd think about it and then called me back a few days later. She said, and I quote, "I love you Carrie, but I couldn't live with you."

Excuuuuuuse me? You couldn't live with me? Okay crazy lady! " )

Look how much fun you guys have when he's out of town! Good thing he's missed or the kids might clamor for him to leave more often.
