oh no

there are 7 words that no mother ever wants to hear while in the car (did i mention in the car with all the kids?)

seven words...
but it happenedand it wasn't good.
"i feel like i'm going to be sick"
which is quickly followed (and i mean supersonic quick)
by "it"...the "sick".

so after i was done gagging myself and doing crowd control with the other 3, it was clean up and go at the closest gas station.

i'm happy to report that the stomach flu lasted but a few hours with brooke; i was not so lucky.  but i am back.  good thing, too....we have our open house on sunday for jk's adoption and to welcome sofie.

we're off to all eat toast knowing that someone else well def be getting sick soon...booo!
(it may be a bad time to say this but i have waited for my 03 escalade for a while...i know it's old to you, but it's so awesome for me...and now, it's been initiated...and it's only been 5 months. sad.  poor girl.)

Oh, I'm so sorry. Those are words I never want to hear anywhere, anytime. The car is one of the worst. So is the middle of the night when the kid is leaning over you and you're not quite coherent.

Oh, I'm so sorry. UGH. Atleast you're somewhat forwarned. My 2 yearold hasn't grasped that concept yet. Fun times!

*Oh, how I hope nobody else gets it!!

I'm so sorry to hear your sick and that the sickness has invaded your house! That is not fun at all - hopefully you will be spared any major bouts of the flu.

Take care and Yay for your new car!!

Oh YUCK! I don't do puke very well. Sorry about your new car (hey, five months is still NEW to me too!). I hope all is well with your crew very soon. The flu is just plain not fun. Especially when mommy has it. One of these days when I don't have three kids pulling on my pant legs saying, "MOMMMEEE, I need UUUU", I'll have to go back and read all about your adoption, foster care, big family journey! :) Blessings and have a fantastic sick free weekend!

Oh no, I dread hearing those words from my little guy. I especially dread knowing that someone else is to follow!!

Oh my....I must say I have yet to experience puke in a car. And I must say that I'll be very very patient and NOT sad if it never happens. Ugh. I think I might just have to sell the car! :-)

BTW, I would love to have an 03 in my fleet...we have a 91 (yes, a NINETY-ONE) and 01. I'm thankful for my 01 with leather. Ahhhh....easy clean-up for the future! (or not)

Home brew is good. I love a good cup of coffee. But my tea was delightful this morning. Glad to hear you are feeling better!

Ohhh I am so sorry. We keep beach towels in our car in case we just decide to hit the beach. They have been used on clean up duty! I drink a lof of bottled water, so between hosing off with bottled water and then covering a kid with a beach towel, we can make it home. I giggled about christening the escalade. ;)

I live in mortal fear of the stomach flu. Good luck!

But enough about that...I'm completely fixated on the toast. Is that...VAN HALEN toast? Please tell me it's Van Halen toast. And please tell me where I can get some because that's by far the coolest thing I've seen all day.

Awesome.

Thanks for stopping by the 'stache contest - loved your comment!

Have a great weekend...

Van Halen toast, Palin lipstick button, I think I'm in blog love! Hope the smell gets out of your car, ick, ick, ick. That's one of the worst, but what sends it over the top when one of your monkeys barf's in a friends car, mortifing, and not enough money in the world to say I'm sorry!
Oh how sad all around!! My brother-in-law (adult) did not know he was going to yuck...their truck was brand new 3 months off the lot...when he lost his cookies all over the dash...??!! WHAT the H...couldn't he pull over and or open the window....Nasty!! Need-less to say...they traded it in a few weeks later...the smell ugh!!!

SOOO sorry that happened. No kids here, but lots of students. Those words aren't fun to hear in a closed classroom either.
SO GROSS.
But congrats on the car!

Yes, that is one of the worst. Lucky everyone else didn't follow suit just watching! And the clean up!!! One time on a trip out of the mountains our youngest did that and my, it was only the start of our 9 hour drive. Fortunately it was all on a sleeping bag and it was left in a dumpster on the side of the road! She was just car sick and once we got out of the mountains she was fine. It did make a memory..as for the car...Febreeze?

Ugh!!! You know I can sympathize, though I didn't have to clean "the sick" up in the car.
Hope the rest of the weekend goes well with the open house.

random acts...GNO

over at GNO, there's a few of us who decided to challenge ourselves last week to perform a random act of kindness.   i talked with my girls and hubs about what we could do... we reserve some funds each month out of our giving to put towards a current or urgent need that we find.  i think it's important to let the kids see how we give as family...and they should be part of that decision too . as we were talking, and eating chinese...come on, you know there would be eating...i open my fortune cookie.  and this is it!! i was out getting a few minutes of alone time and decided to pay hubs forward by getting jiffy lube to do the oil change.  while i was there, i remembered how hard it was being a single mom.  i remembered that the little things, like oil changes, suddenly became bigger things and honestly, more expensive things.  *light bulb!!!* thomas rang me up for my oil change and asked if they had any scheduled appointments that i could pay for.  he looked at me a little odd...

sadness

on the way home from DD {{bc apparently there was NO preschool today for jk...it's no prob, really...we just rushed around and scrambled and got in the car and then when we got there and there was no school...well, there were tears...thus DD}} , there came a moment of sincere sadness in my heart. jk: " mommy, i want to look like brookie" "why sweetie? you are the perfect jada" jk: "i don't like my brown skin. i want peach skin like brookie" i just sank. does that not make ur heart want to break? a 3 yo is struggling already with her skin being different. then, this happened: brooke: "jada, god made you and he loves you. he does it all right the very first time" then, i think my heart grew three sizes . jada threw a big smile up on her face and said, "ok. god loves me" now, if we all could just do that. god loves us...he doesn't make mistakes...he makes perfect works of art. sometimes there are scratches in the art.

tuesday tribute---for tuesday

go blog yourself has been on my reading list for quite sometime...and so i really came to love little tuesday whitt and her whole sweet fam and became involved in praying for them in tuesday's battle with that stinky neuroblastoma . tuesday's parents are totally amazing...they inspire me! although tuesday went to play with jesus not so long ago, there have been so many people that are changed because of the courage and strength and honesty of the whitt family. on the day of celebration of tuesday's life, a number of folks who couldn't make it out to the funeral, took their kids on a 'wagie ride', which was one of tuesday's fav things. we all posted up our pics...shared our experiences with each other...and hugged our kiddos a little tighter. my kiddos wagie ride is here . from that precious little tuesday and her honorary wagie ride, a blog spawned...of course...and it is dedicated to nothing more than, in their words, "to keep track of lives touc
