sooo big....

i know my kids grow really fast, but seriously, sofie is the baby, and well, i just don't deal as well with that fact any more.

last week, i had to do the unthinkable...yes...at 18 months and 19 pounds...
she had to change from her infant seat to a baby seat...she wasn't fitting anymore.

sof was 3 lbs when we brought her home from the NICU...and so stinking tiny. i was certain she would start high school in this seat.

we had to roll roll burb cloths {yes, that's what they are...not towels} to just get her secure in the seat.
we were so worried because she was so fragile and small and well, 3 lbs!!!!
now, she's just got the whole, "i am way bigger than this seat, mom" look going on.

and to prove her independence, which she always does, there's one last fling to momma showing how big she really is...check out that greasy grin!

i'm hanging out at wordful wednesdays, ww today...come join the fun.

STOP GROWING! That's what I tell Yaya all the time. My mom even threatens to put a rock on top of her head so she can't grow. LOL Yaya responds so seriously, "But momma or nanna, I have to grow and get big like you!"

That's always a sad moment in my house, too....STOP GROWING I always tell El, but she just gets mad at me, telling me she wants a real phone for her 5th birthday. Sigh.

she now has a whole new world to look around at.
So tiny and precious. She's got spunk though. Hope she keeps growing and becoming more beautiful... =)
I totally relate to having difficulty with the baby growing. Our baby of the family is now 4. :(

Your little one is adorable!

She is so precious and petite. I love it! Mine were always mooses! Is that a word?
She is so "owning" that car seat! Meaning, she is officially a big girl and ready to move on to bigger and better car seats!

I just love her sweet smiles.

I brought my Lily home at 3 pounds as well and I remember rolling up all those burp cloths and she would still swish around in that big ol' carseat! Oh and I so remember when she grew out of the carrier and into a carseat and now she is in a booster and I still can't belive it!

WOH! Midget moved out of her carseat at 9 months because she was too tall! Her legs were sticking out of the seat about a foot, so we figured we'd better get her in a bigger seat.

Your little peanut is so tiny! And GORGEOUS!!

random acts...GNO

over at GNO, there's a few of us who decided to challenge ourselves last week to perform a random act of kindness.   i talked with my girls and hubs about what we could do... we reserve some funds each month out of our giving to put towards a current or urgent need that we find.  i think it's important to let the kids see how we give as family...and they should be part of that decision too . as we were talking, and eating chinese...come on, you know there would be eating...i open my fortune cookie.  and this is it!! i was out getting a few minutes of alone time and decided to pay hubs forward by getting jiffy lube to do the oil change.  while i was there, i remembered how hard it was being a single mom.  i remembered that the little things, like oil changes, suddenly became bigger things and honestly, more expensive things.  *light bulb!!!* thomas rang me up for my oil change and asked if they had any scheduled appointments that i could pay for.  he looked at me a little odd......

one lucky chick

i have been super blessed with a man who not only loves and adores me, but thinks his daughters are all queens deserving of the most love a daddy can give.  in this family, and with other special needs families, there are days that make being fully engaged, well, let's just say difficult. poop, for instance...it's still an issue in our house.  with kids 20, 12, 10, and 7, you would think that we were well past the poop problems, but we are not.  ASD (autism spectrum disorder) is a beast when it comes to poop. and here's a little insight on me...i'm a gagger, meaning the harsh smell of poop or puke makes be puke.  but the amazing hot hubs, he's a beast on the clean up.  poop on the walls...he scrubs it.  poop pasted on the toilet...he cleans it up.  poop on the shower curtain...he washes it.  and he does it without being nasty.  (he doesn't like it...but he does it.) so, when people see our fam and think it's all amazingly perfect and cu...

tuesday tribute---for tuesday

go blog yourself has been on my reading list for quite sometime...and so i really came to love little tuesday whitt and her whole sweet fam and became involved in praying for them in tuesday's battle with that stinky neuroblastoma . tuesday's parents are totally amazing...they inspire me! although tuesday went to play with jesus not so long ago, there have been so many people that are changed because of the courage and strength and honesty of the whitt family. on the day of celebration of tuesday's life, a number of folks who couldn't make it out to the funeral, took their kids on a 'wagie ride', which was one of tuesday's fav things. we all posted up our pics...shared our experiences with each other...and hugged our kiddos a little tighter. my kiddos wagie ride is here . from that precious little tuesday and her honorary wagie ride, a blog spawned...of course...and it is dedicated to nothing more than, in their words, "to keep track of lives touc...
