A Thorn Among Roses

as a photographer, i am always asked by my clients what they should wear...so i decided to pull together some examples for families: outfits for family members should be fun and mold together as one BIG outfit.  so matchy matchy isn't always the best.  for families with children, the best option is to find one patterned or fun item that you love and match up the other peeps in the fam accordingly.  mini boden soooo has this right... start with the blue checked top, add little sisters dress and toss in the handbag for color and coordination.  the added red and turquoise and lilac then gets pulled out in mom and dad's outfits. and then good old dad... i love the whisy kiddo clothes, and making momma fancy smancy a little with some great touches.  add some color to daddy-o with a belt...but lose the watch.  i love picking outfits straight from the closet...and using the clothes that you love and the kids enjoy wearing.  it makes the "jump in the air" p...

a few fam photos from my photo shoot of, well, "us" on saturday. they all aren't perfect, but they are perfectly us...does that make sense??? a few tears and some "i don't want to's"...pretty normal! my bookend kiddos...and me! {ryan took the pic...i set it up, of course} and even a few of JUST sofia...with her hair in a pixie! did you catch that...hair!!! then ryan gave it a shot getting a shot of the girlies and me...you know, "the roses" in the "thorn among roses". he didn't do too bad...lighting wasn't the best, but hey, it's all of us girlies in a pic! any favs??? _____________________________________________ november is national adoption month are you or someone you know considering adoption and need some assistance finanacially...well, there are all kinds of places that exist that offer grants. go HERE and take a look. reese's rainbow is one of those totally amazing places...and they provide connections for ...

some shots of a super cute friends of ours...joey and darcy i love these two...they smile all the time. they are geniune. they love the lord. they show and share their love with everyone around them...and they really love each other. and mr. joey is a daddy...so why not a few fun shots of daddy and his girl too?? and little miss taylor...giggling while telling me all about the "crush". sooo cute! super cute!!! thanks guys for letting me do the shoot!

i love doing senior pics for kids i know and love...and i totally got to spend awesome time with one of my most fav ab's in the world on saturday...shooting around!! she's gorgeous...inside and out!! she's totally the kind of girl i have prayed my girlies will be... she's intense and focused...an athlete and student...a great friend... a fun loving, happy, smiley girlie who brings energy to a room when she's there... ...and one who doesn't ever take herself too serious! so, thanks abby for letting me do a few shots!!! and there's way more to come! pray for a high schooler today...especially those who are living their faith out loud!

so, i'm a foster mom...without any foster kiddos right now. but one of my friends has a house full...she's a little nuts like me! anyway, one of her precious peas never got newborn pics. so, i love photography...and babies! and photographing babies is uber great!!! i was so excited...and he was tired and hungry...of course. i love baby expressions and foreheads...look at the intense thought here. and being cute and cuddly is so stinking exhausting! don't you just love those sweet little baby hands and feet??? so, my fun and excitement for this month included doing a photo shoot for some very happy and joyful birthparents who never got newborn pics of their precious pea... it's not much, but it's def something that i know i treasure as a momma...so in honor of project{happy hearts}, i used some of my skills to give a smile to someone in need. come and join in the fun! go see more at chronicles of a mommy .
