it's a total battlefield...

oh my word...what a week!  i never miss not me monday...and i totally did this week.  you wanna know why?  well, this is why... seems someone, who shall remain unnamed, but pictured above, has decided that being two requires a constant battle of the wills.  i mean, she's precious, don't get me wrong, but seriously, when a 2 year and 2 month old {who is suppose to be behind bc of her preemie-ness} takes her dinner plate and chucks it at daddy when she was "all done. no more, daddy"...i think we are definitely in the strong-willed or "spirited" category. yep...you think the plate toss was good...well, it got better. stinker-poo also decided that when daddy gave her  a towel to clean up her mess that she would teach that towel a lesson. she tossed the towel on the floor, started gibbering some words that included, but were def not limited to "no towel. don't like you. you mean. no way."  then, as if to fully win the argument, she jumped up and...

oh yeah...my bloggy friend

do you have one of those "god sent" bloggy friends?  well, i have a few, but pam  {from you're gonna miss this }is one of the best! pam and i have weirdly parallel lives...i mean, we're totally different, but there are many likenesses.  we met up in blogland and have been chatting first on comments, then email, then twitter, then texting...and then, we finally met! oh you know there was diet coke, good food and THE CHEESECAKE FACTORY red velvet cheesecake involved!!! we talked. we laughed. we totally ate!!! multi racial family divorced lovers of jesus big fams photographers { her ... me } kids struggling with ADHD birth and adoptive momma's prayer partners IEP's and school stuff and so much more.... so anyway, thank God for pam...and for connecting us thru this crazy place we call blogland. {i just have to say, i have lost a ton of inches...and this picture by the demon camera shows NONE of it. i think i'm losing all the inches from my body and it'...

sleep is for wimps

what a weekend ahead...it's basically no sleep and softball! paige has a tourney that is an overnighter all weekend, so our first game is at 5:30 am...which means us there at 4:30am, and leaving home at 3:45am...seriously!  it's too early to play anything if starbucks isn't open...i'm just saying. but tonight i get to go and hang with my fab SIL, allison, at her place...can't wait!  then, of course, it will be bed and SOFTBALL! the question of the day on aloha friday is...well, a great one, i gotta say!!! would you rather be a rich person or a smart one... i'm gonna go with good ole soloman on this one and go smart bc well, with my fab brains, i'm so gonna do more. besides, that rich crap hasn't worked for donald trump so well...i mean, have you seen the guy's hair?  he could def use some wisdom! it's all good...i don't mind.  love the girls. love softball. now...let's go!!! {an who is up for that aloha view? sign me up!}

friday fix it...

i heart faces has their fab friday fix it...and well, this little guy was super cute. here's my fix...his expression says it all!!! ...and the original here.

a dough...a what?

jada loves to cook...she's full of all kinds of "let's add some of this" and "i can't wait to eat that".  sometimes i'm cleaning {or blogging} and i can't cook...but my little play dough bucket sure can!!! {and it counts for occupational therapy too!} she can make up some biscuits....for biscuits and gravy.  man, does that sound good! i even get some school work in when i can...how about some alphabet cookies with fresh coffee and a smoothie??? using alphabet stamps to make our names...then "bake" them of course! a little cut and trim so it's just right.... and some finishing touches... and viola! you have some alphabet cookie and biscuit soup du jour...with coffee and smoothies, of course!  she's quite the menu maker too.  did i mention that? i know...i thought it looked like it needed a little salt too. :)

bingo!!!!!

brooke is sharp as a tack...her mind just works in a different way than some of us. brooke has ADHD and although it doesn't define who she is or what she can do, she faces many challenges in school that the other kiddos in her class do not. coupled with ADHD, brooke has hypermobility and sensory integration dysfunction...which in understandable terms means her body is like rubber {elasta-girl}.  her joints don't feel like you and i...she can bend and move and do things that look like they really hurt, but for her, they don't.  {if the circus needed a contortionist, she would def fit the bill}.  ways that you and i feel our feet when we walk, brooke doesn't so much.  her life is kinda like bouncing around in a moon walk...never really feeling anything. all that put together, makes learning a challenge, especially speech and fine motor skills like cutting, writing, etc. so we are always looking for fun ways to get the work done while still keeping b engaged and makin...

not me monday

a few things me and the fam DID NOT do this week... i DID NOT schedule my hs small group girls outing sunday for pizza and bowling to only find out that there is a bowling league on sunday's.  nope...not me.  i'm a good leader.  an experienced leader and that means i would def check those types of things first. while eating pizza with my hs girlies, alicia DID NOT say, "i can't whistle."  brooke DID NOT respond, "if  you lose a tooth you can!" jada DID NOT ask me "mom, can you walk on water?" i DID NOT say, "what do you think?" jada DID NOT respond, "i think you can, mom."  i DID NOT think that for one split that she thought i was uber powerful...turns out she DID NOT think that standing IN water was the same as walking ON IT.  oh well. i was NOT disappointed. jada DID NOT say,  'i watched where i was in the parking lot...and it was so I didn't die.' I did not get ink from the printer cartridge on my hands t...
