faces of us

we're trying to rest...between soccer, and yard work and family and, well, everything, we're trying to have a restful weekend...it might not happen. so, here are a few faces of us...have a good weekend! "He has showed you, O man, what is good. And what does the LORD require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God." micah 6:8

new diggs...that really look old

how is it that {first} i am old enough to have my high school fashion back in style? and {second} that anyone would want a redo on 80's fashion? yep...she could get any of the styles...and this is what she picked! skater, retro diggs... oh, yes, a better glance...b was worried you wouldn't see the whole shoes, so the pants legs went up! guess it's true...what old will become new again! playing it old school

what can $1 buy you at a garage sale??? utter joy and happiness...that's what!! can you say TINKERTOYS to the rescue? do you notice that the girlies are not fighting in these pics?? they are playing together. hmmm...what an idea! old school toys rock my stinking face off!

the old ballgame

it's the smell of brick dust in the air... softball!!! paige finished up her school ball season this last weekend...and she did awesome. she laid down the perfect bunt... i wish you could see how close the 3rd baseman really was to her... and she totally beat the throw!!! killer catches and amazing throws from the outfield... and great leadership on and off the field... and then this major league slide at home! awesome! now, there's a whole lot going on behind the diamond too... friends and games... nana and her baby sofie...playing between innings and in the end, there's utter exhaustion from a full day of sunshine, playing and softball...on everyone's part. {check out the filthy feet...yuck} and the girlies are absolutely filthy, which, in my book, is a sign of a good day! {can you see her face behind all that dirt??} and the utter admiration of the little sisters of paige and the team in the dugout... so sweet! so, a happy end of one softball season and a great new b

not me monday

a few things me and fam DID NOT do this week: i DID NOT eat 3 reese's cups and call it dinner bc there was protein {pb} involved. jada and brooke DID NOT tell me i had superpowers when i used my green flip flop to kill 6 bees this week. jada DID NOT say, "man, mommy, you are a total super hero." i DID NOT have 3 kids puking this week at once...and i DID NOT clean up too much vomit and poo...and i also DID NOT gag while doing it. brooke DID NOT say on the way to church, "this music you guys are listening to is totally lame." we saw a lady at lowe's with 2 little purse sized dogs...brooke DID NOT say "that was totally cool." at p's softball game, jada WAS NOT playing ring around the rosey with friends. when it came time to "all fall down", jada DID NOT stand there and say, "i'm not falling down. i'm staying right here." i DID NOT use my super powers and my magic green flip flop to kill 7 bees this week. jada and b

we're playing...

off to the county tournament today... it's sunny and warm and perfect for beating some butts and winning it all!!! have a good memorial day weekend! remember those who have served, are serving...they keep us safe and free.

new again

look what we found in our back yard??? brand new baby birdies... so this got me thinking...and i know, that's scary sometimes. these birds just sit and wait, and when they feel a movement, they open their beaks and prepare to be fed...knowing full well, that their momma will take care of them. you all know that this life we live here is hard. there is a stupid killer, cancer, and there are kids suffering, there is hurt and pain and anger and loss. and honestly, it seems of late, there has been even a little more of it to spread around. this life here, is also full of peace and joy and love and gentleness and strength, when we walk it with jesus. the hard times are still hard. there is still heart ache. there is still pain. but there is always hope. always love and always my god, right there with me, strengthening me, helping me and holding me even while i ask "why" and desire more things. so i'm gently reminded of an unfailing god, who loves me beyond my imag

da old school jeep

paige got a barbie jeep when she was 2 from nana and papa back in the day...and this spring, it has made a resurgence in our house! i just love it when the old becomes new again. {i'm hoping for that one to help me out this year for my 40th} i have found one toy...for now...that causes very few fights, and that b, jk and s all love at the same time. welcome the old school jeep. the girlies are driving all over the place...seeing new things and driving on new adventures. i heard them say they went to the beach. i wish i was along for that ride!!! brooke is the only "road safe" driver...as jada, well, she's not quite got the handle on driving with obstacles yet. yesterday, jada hit two mailboxes and knocked over one large green rolling trashcan and we revoked her license until further notice. so for now, brooke is the driver... being a chauffeur is super hard work...shewwww. and yes, it's like 2pm and my kids are in their jammies, with their hair uncombed and playi

honoring kayleigh anne freeman

if you haven't met aimee and adam freeman yet, you are missing out on some amazing peeps. they have 3 kiddos...2 girls and a boy...and miss kayleigh, the baby, was a 1lb miracle. they have the faith and strength and endurance...and they are grieving the loss of little kayleigh...and they need our prayers. kayleigh anne freeman is home with jesus now...and we honored that precious baby girl with a pink balloon release... it did not go as planned. i explained to the girls that kayleigh had passed away and she was with jesus now...and they asked a few questions then they grabbed the balloons...that i blew up {problem #1} and gave them a toss. so in honoring a sweet and precious little baby girl, we chased the balloons and frolicked in the yard instead, knowing kayleigh was playing for the first time...with no pain and no fighting for breaths and no sorrow...just playing. so we did too. in an only god sorta way, one balloon floated away...as if to remind us that he remains. god rem
