not me monday

a few things me an d the fam DID NOT do this week...

paige DID NOT play in a softball tournament, on a lake, where it was stinking freezing! i DID NOT go get hand warmers for the girls...who DID NOT put them in their back pockets of their pants to keep warm. and...the girls DID NOT laugh endlessly bc when you looked around the field, all of them were touching their butts...to keep warm!
hubs and i DID NOT have a super fab time on our 10th anniversary...we DID NOT eat super fab food and laugh and enjoy every second alone on our date. we are NOT so stinking grateful that we still love each other and have fun together...and laugh a lot together!

i DID NOT get "SHUSHED" by jada while singing along in the car with radio disney to "the ants go marching one by one..." jada DID NOT tell me, "mom, your singing is not so good".

i have NOT been battling for a solid week a sinus infection/flu type thing. i am NOT tired of being exhausted and sick...but grateful it's nothing else.

we DID NOT lose electricity during the wedding of pam and jim on the office...but were redeemed when the power came back on.
i DID NOT hear a scream from the basement on friday afternoon from paige followed by a "grey's only got dvr'd for 6 minutes...what in the world. DADDDDD!!!" paige and i DID NOT crowd around the mac and watch the episode...and were again able to survive to next week.

hubs and i DID NOT see "couples retreat" the movie and laugh our stinking butts off! i would NOT recommend that you go and see the movie bc it's NOT down right hilarious with a great story line...and some good counseling tips too!

uncle jer {my bro} DID NOT bring over a power wheels for sofia this week...after seeing it, i was NOT sold that she did need to keep it.hubs DID NOT install snow lepoard on my macbook pro...and i am NOT furious that aperture and all my photo editing tools are jacked up. i am NOT going to snow leopard if i don't get my stuff back in order NOW!!

sofia DID NOT test me to the limit this week with the clinging hemorrhoid to me...you know, her head up my butt no matter where i go...even at MOPS on wednesday, i had to leave bc she refused to stop crying until her nose bled to see me. the second she saw me, she DID NOT stop crying and start smiling. i DID NOT feel a little trapped by my 21 month old. but i love that girl...
i DID NOT get to reserve tickets to go and see my SIL and BIL in colorado...taking along sof and paige in a few weeks for a few days! yeah! meg is prego...and since every time she's had a baby we've adopted or had one, i'm NOT wondering what that means for us in december...will an adoption be in order again? ryan says no, btw.

i DID NOT treat the girls to chix nuggies for lunch one day...and sofie DID NOT eat 6! b DID NOT eat 9...and i DID NOT think i had better buy a deep freeze to feed these kids as they get older and get a few growth spurts!

so glad that your power came back on for their wedding. :)
Hi there! Remember me?

So nice to finally get back to your site today and re-connect. Being able to do so on a NMM post makes my little homecoming even more enjoyable.

You've been missed.

Cracking up at my Jada. She is too funny. Also I cannot believe that Sofia ate 6 nuggets. My 9 year old doesn't even eat that much. Wow! Way to go Sof!
So glad you had a nice anniversary!! Happy NMM!

random acts...GNO

over at GNO, there's a few of us who decided to challenge ourselves last week to perform a random act of kindness.   i talked with my girls and hubs about what we could do... we reserve some funds each month out of our giving to put towards a current or urgent need that we find.  i think it's important to let the kids see how we give as family...and they should be part of that decision too . as we were talking, and eating chinese...come on, you know there would be eating...i open my fortune cookie.  and this is it!! i was out getting a few minutes of alone time and decided to pay hubs forward by getting jiffy lube to do the oil change.  while i was there, i remembered how hard it was being a single mom.  i remembered that the little things, like oil changes, suddenly became bigger things and honestly, more expensive things.  *light bulb!!!* thomas rang me up for my oil change and asked if they had any scheduled appointments that i could pay for.  he looked at me a little odd...

sadness

on the way home from DD {{bc apparently there was NO preschool today for jk...it's no prob, really...we just rushed around and scrambled and got in the car and then when we got there and there was no school...well, there were tears...thus DD}} , there came a moment of sincere sadness in my heart. jk: " mommy, i want to look like brookie" "why sweetie? you are the perfect jada" jk: "i don't like my brown skin. i want peach skin like brookie" i just sank. does that not make ur heart want to break? a 3 yo is struggling already with her skin being different. then, this happened: brooke: "jada, god made you and he loves you. he does it all right the very first time" then, i think my heart grew three sizes . jada threw a big smile up on her face and said, "ok. god loves me" now, if we all could just do that. god loves us...he doesn't make mistakes...he makes perfect works of art. sometimes there are scratches in the art.

tuesday tribute---for tuesday

go blog yourself has been on my reading list for quite sometime...and so i really came to love little tuesday whitt and her whole sweet fam and became involved in praying for them in tuesday's battle with that stinky neuroblastoma . tuesday's parents are totally amazing...they inspire me! although tuesday went to play with jesus not so long ago, there have been so many people that are changed because of the courage and strength and honesty of the whitt family. on the day of celebration of tuesday's life, a number of folks who couldn't make it out to the funeral, took their kids on a 'wagie ride', which was one of tuesday's fav things. we all posted up our pics...shared our experiences with each other...and hugged our kiddos a little tighter. my kiddos wagie ride is here . from that precious little tuesday and her honorary wagie ride, a blog spawned...of course...and it is dedicated to nothing more than, in their words, "to keep track of lives touc
