preschool fashionista

ok, i want a shirt or coat or maybe a sign for preschool drop off and pick up line.

i have to get out of the car and walk jk up to the door with all the other momma's and daddy's...and for some reason, i seem to be the only one who isn't fully put together. {hey look, i even wore jeans}

clue: i'm not trying to impress anyone, so pardon my pony tail and baggy eyes...i'm dropping off my kid. did i mention i had to get 3 kids up and ready just to get to this point?

i think i need a sign that i can wear that says,
"i have 4 kids, my husband is traveling and my baby woke up 4 times last night. i haven't slept in 5 years. i need 3 more cups of coffee. and back off sister"

i know i don't look good...but i do know this. i get to shower {sometimes} at nap time, which is like 5 hours from now, so come by and i'll be in my jeans when you've switched on over to jammie pants!

lol Love it! Ya gotta do what ya gotta do and if someone's got something to say about it, well, just shove snow in their mouth and that'll shut em up for a couple mins. :0P

LOL- I need a similar sign.

I was always afraid to wear my pjs to drop off kids. I knew that it would be that particular morning that something would happen and I would be standing out in public

I say you get a car magnet made! Then you could drive like crap and completely get away with it TOO! haha

I always shower during midget's 1st nap, so I'd be right there with ya!

Screw them all! You have happy kids and a husband who loves you... AND you're in comfy clothes.

i live in the south, and I'm always suspicious of the "perfectly put together" mommies who get out of the car at 7:30am to drop off kids.

hmmmm.....

((LOVIN the boots btw))

I think you look just fine for preschool drop off! Back in NM when I would drop Kayla off at school most mornings I would quickly throw on a pair of jeans, but leave my pj shirt on (since I was throwing a coat on over it) and just go...I was only walking her out of the van to the gate and then going home to shower. You would see moms at both end of the spectrums...some would be completely made up as if they had been up for hours...and others would be decked out in full pj gear- slippers and all!

The kids I nanny for go to a private preschool and all the moms show up to drop their kids off in their workout clothes since they all have full time nannies and can spend the morning at the gym.....doesn't their lives sound nice? Sometimes...then I realize it must get really boring after awhile!

I think you look fabulous!

You are one fabulous mamma, and it shows!! We've all been in that situation, wishing we had a sign, even those people who look like they haven't. :)

I often drop off William in my jammies. He is lucky that I don't have to get out of the truck.
PS you look great.

I am telling you right now...I got to school the other day, because for some reason with four kids, i've decided to go back to college. Anyway, I got to school and realized that day that I never brushed my teeth!!!!! Not even kidding you. My 11 month old still wakes up 3-5 times a night and I look FABULOUS walking my girls into school. You're not alone...and we should wear a sign...and take pictures of it...and then blog about it =)

I am laughing my head off right now. I totally feel your pain! I will admit to you, I got to school the other night, because for some crazy reason I decided to go back to college with four small children, and realized I had never brushed my teeth that day. I am with you, getting kids ready and an 11 month old that still wakes up 3-6 times a night really dominates your time! Life can be crazy and our appearance suffers! We should wear signs and take pictures of them and then blog about it =)LOVED this post.

I think you look exceptional for not sleeping in 5 years! I've only been going without sleep for about 2 years, and I look much worse than you! Hey when you get that shirt made, will you order two, one for me???

Okay, I got to you from your post on my blog... thank you very much... and I am reading backward, sort of, because I had to scroll down to get the name of a song for my son... but I am off on a tangent... what I want to say is "Heck yes!" I am the only one at my pre-school who sometimes hasn't brushed my teeth yet and sometimes Meg is still in her jammies when I walk Connor in... but by golly, I got two boys on two different buses at two different times BEFORE most of those skinny chics even got up! :) hehehe

random acts...GNO

over at GNO, there's a few of us who decided to challenge ourselves last week to perform a random act of kindness.   i talked with my girls and hubs about what we could do... we reserve some funds each month out of our giving to put towards a current or urgent need that we find.  i think it's important to let the kids see how we give as family...and they should be part of that decision too . as we were talking, and eating chinese...come on, you know there would be eating...i open my fortune cookie.  and this is it!! i was out getting a few minutes of alone time and decided to pay hubs forward by getting jiffy lube to do the oil change.  while i was there, i remembered how hard it was being a single mom.  i remembered that the little things, like oil changes, suddenly became bigger things and honestly, more expensive things.  *light bulb!!!* thomas rang me up for my oil change and asked if they had any scheduled appointments that i could pay for.  he looked at me a little odd...

sadness

on the way home from DD {{bc apparently there was NO preschool today for jk...it's no prob, really...we just rushed around and scrambled and got in the car and then when we got there and there was no school...well, there were tears...thus DD}} , there came a moment of sincere sadness in my heart. jk: " mommy, i want to look like brookie" "why sweetie? you are the perfect jada" jk: "i don't like my brown skin. i want peach skin like brookie" i just sank. does that not make ur heart want to break? a 3 yo is struggling already with her skin being different. then, this happened: brooke: "jada, god made you and he loves you. he does it all right the very first time" then, i think my heart grew three sizes . jada threw a big smile up on her face and said, "ok. god loves me" now, if we all could just do that. god loves us...he doesn't make mistakes...he makes perfect works of art. sometimes there are scratches in the art.

tuesday tribute---for tuesday

go blog yourself has been on my reading list for quite sometime...and so i really came to love little tuesday whitt and her whole sweet fam and became involved in praying for them in tuesday's battle with that stinky neuroblastoma . tuesday's parents are totally amazing...they inspire me! although tuesday went to play with jesus not so long ago, there have been so many people that are changed because of the courage and strength and honesty of the whitt family. on the day of celebration of tuesday's life, a number of folks who couldn't make it out to the funeral, took their kids on a 'wagie ride', which was one of tuesday's fav things. we all posted up our pics...shared our experiences with each other...and hugged our kiddos a little tighter. my kiddos wagie ride is here . from that precious little tuesday and her honorary wagie ride, a blog spawned...of course...and it is dedicated to nothing more than, in their words, "to keep track of lives touc
