not me monday

a few things that i, of course, DID NOT do this week

i am NOT totally broken before my lord....tuesday, aiden and now cora.
{all sweet babies with jesus now}

brooke DID NOT cover my eyes with her hand when i said, "i don't want to see senior citizens doing that"...referring to the viagra commercial. she also DID NOT keep her hand on ver eyes, saying, "it's okay mommy. it's still on but it's almost over. it's over. is that better now mommy?"

i DID NOT have a load of high school girlies over on friday night for "girls nite". we DID NOT have a total blast.
brooke DID NOT learn that on ski jumping on wii fit, it was way more fun to fall off the end and turn into a snow ball.

while filling the dishwasher, i DID NOT notice sofie chewing and have to rescue day old hamburger from her mouth.

brooke DID NOT shout, "mommy, make jada stop being an ursala" {little mermaid}

i DID NOT get my hair colored and almost freak out bc my highlights were really all over and i def was NOT a total blonde. {thus the tongue}

i DID NOT feed the girlies taco bell on thursday night when hubs was out of town and call it balanced...tomatoes are a fruit, right?

i DID NOT hold my babies tight this week and thank god for each of them and ask for forgiveness for the times i complain about them. {honoring tuesday, aiden, cora and so many others}

i DID NOT tp my own house with high school girls to show them how it's NOT done. and i DID NOT teach brooke at 5 yo how to tp...only a crazy woman would do that.
i DID NOT make it to pro status on wii fit yoga in two days...yep, that's some balance there peeps!

i DID NOT take my kiddos on a wagie ride to honor tuesday whitt on saturday. {look here for more pics and post}
jada DID NOT walk up to me on sunday and brush the hair out of my eyes and say "you are so beautiful. i can't hardly stand it."

and i AM NOT posting this link to leelou's for a virtual baby shower for two fab babies, kayleigh and mia...and they ARE NOT giving away super fantastic things...and hoping for donations for babies that have spent tons of time in NICU!oh and last day for my cuff bracelet giveaway!!! winners announced tomorrow!!! woot woot!

head on over to mckmomma's and see what a bunch of other peeps DID NOT do this week!

I love the last one. Although I'm not ready for kids yet, I still find it amazing that they can turn your day around with a couple of words or a smile.

I saw the news about Cora last night. I went to bed crying, saying a prayer for all the parents in this world who have to face this tragedy. And another one for my faith. I'm a little put out with the powers that be.

I don't have a clue how I came upon your blog, other than it was God! :) You have one of my all time favorite charities on your side bar, St.Baldrick's. Our wonderful friend John Bender and two friends created St.Baldrick's and my dear, dear friend Kathleen runs the charity!!!!! Our daughter, Jordyn died from AML leukemia and it just makes my heart swell to see others supporting such an AWESOME charity!!

God Bless

I did stop by I think it's Jay (Halftime) and got his button for St.Baldrick's! :)
This is my hubby's 3rd deployment to Iraq since 2003, (every other year is what he's been doing) and his 5th deployment in the last 11 yrs. I'm blessed though and so thankful to be married to a man who's willing to put his life literally on the line!

God Bless and hope you come to visit again!

random acts...GNO

over at GNO, there's a few of us who decided to challenge ourselves last week to perform a random act of kindness.   i talked with my girls and hubs about what we could do... we reserve some funds each month out of our giving to put towards a current or urgent need that we find.  i think it's important to let the kids see how we give as family...and they should be part of that decision too . as we were talking, and eating chinese...come on, you know there would be eating...i open my fortune cookie.  and this is it!! i was out getting a few minutes of alone time and decided to pay hubs forward by getting jiffy lube to do the oil change.  while i was there, i remembered how hard it was being a single mom.  i remembered that the little things, like oil changes, suddenly became bigger things and honestly, more expensive things.  *light bulb!!!* thomas rang me up for my oil change and asked if they had any scheduled appointments that i could pay for.  he looked at me a little odd...

sadness

on the way home from DD {{bc apparently there was NO preschool today for jk...it's no prob, really...we just rushed around and scrambled and got in the car and then when we got there and there was no school...well, there were tears...thus DD}} , there came a moment of sincere sadness in my heart. jk: " mommy, i want to look like brookie" "why sweetie? you are the perfect jada" jk: "i don't like my brown skin. i want peach skin like brookie" i just sank. does that not make ur heart want to break? a 3 yo is struggling already with her skin being different. then, this happened: brooke: "jada, god made you and he loves you. he does it all right the very first time" then, i think my heart grew three sizes . jada threw a big smile up on her face and said, "ok. god loves me" now, if we all could just do that. god loves us...he doesn't make mistakes...he makes perfect works of art. sometimes there are scratches in the art.

tuesday tribute---for tuesday

go blog yourself has been on my reading list for quite sometime...and so i really came to love little tuesday whitt and her whole sweet fam and became involved in praying for them in tuesday's battle with that stinky neuroblastoma . tuesday's parents are totally amazing...they inspire me! although tuesday went to play with jesus not so long ago, there have been so many people that are changed because of the courage and strength and honesty of the whitt family. on the day of celebration of tuesday's life, a number of folks who couldn't make it out to the funeral, took their kids on a 'wagie ride', which was one of tuesday's fav things. we all posted up our pics...shared our experiences with each other...and hugged our kiddos a little tighter. my kiddos wagie ride is here . from that precious little tuesday and her honorary wagie ride, a blog spawned...of course...and it is dedicated to nothing more than, in their words, "to keep track of lives touc
