Not Me...

A few things i DID NOT do this week:
i did NOT hurt my stupid knee running with my hubby...
because i'm getting older.

i did NOT feed my  kids mac and cheese
{with peas} for dinner one night.

i did NOT get to dance at our friends wedding
with my hubby...and DD1 stole a pic.

i did NOT steal a piece of candy from my kids stash every day at nap time.  { i wonder why i can't lose that baby weight?}

i did NOT get a free tall Espresso Truffle from Starbucks new lineup. {woot woot}

i did NOT get really really sad when i found out hubby got to go to France and I didn't.

i did NOT give my girls lemonade {pink, of course} for a breakfast beverage because we didn't have any juice or milk in the house.

i did NOT almost cry when hubby left for the airport because i will NOT miss him terribly...and it is NOT a really busy week...and 2 of the kids are def NOT sick.

MckMomma usually does Not Me Monday...come on and just join in on your own; all the cool kids are doing it!!!

adoption insight for the day...

i mentioned a few days ago that "being different" is not really a good thing to a kid, so talking about how special they are becuase they are adopted isn't the best idea.

i found this article talking about all those same types of things and how to handle the questions peeps ask...good and bad...and how to prepare you child for them.

it's been my experience that my kids will react the way i react to peeps, so if i half blow them off and move on, they do as well.  so...read up!

I DID NOT throw away ALL of the Halloween candy as a punishment for no listeing ears because my turkey bird Ryder was trying to scale our counters to get it. I also DID NOT secretly feel relieved once it was gone because I am powerless over those cute little Snickers bars. Oooh confession makes a girl feel better...oh but remember I DID NOT do these above mentioned things. :o)

I'm sorry you're sad the hubby left - I know that's hard...just grab a piece of chocolate to hold you over till he gets back - always makes me feel better.

Lemons count as fruit - so I think lemonade is a fruit juice of sorts!

Oops...is it bad to serve mac and cheese as an entree? I also did not over do on the exercise yesterday and walk 5 miles out of the blue. It did not take my internal organs about 20 minutes to catch up!
Thanks for stopping by my blog. I noticed you are from Indiana. My parents were born and raised in Southern Indiana and I was born there...it's always been home since I grew up as a navy brat.

First of all, espresso truffle? I'm so there. I'm hitting a Starbucks tomorrow.
Next, thanks so much for the adoption link. I have adopted twins, and a fost/adopt 2 yo. Living in a small town, everyone knows they are adopted and they feel they are theirs, but when we travel I often get a few comments. It's nice to have a reference point.
Finally, I DID NOT serve corndogs and tater tots to my family for dinner!
luckily my daughter only stayed awake for 3 houses on Halloween so I was limited to smarties, a hershey bar and some lollipops for candy, but that new Starbucks drink sounds fantastic :)
found you via SITS by the way

random acts...GNO

over at GNO, there's a few of us who decided to challenge ourselves last week to perform a random act of kindness.   i talked with my girls and hubs about what we could do... we reserve some funds each month out of our giving to put towards a current or urgent need that we find.  i think it's important to let the kids see how we give as family...and they should be part of that decision too . as we were talking, and eating chinese...come on, you know there would be eating...i open my fortune cookie.  and this is it!! i was out getting a few minutes of alone time and decided to pay hubs forward by getting jiffy lube to do the oil change.  while i was there, i remembered how hard it was being a single mom.  i remembered that the little things, like oil changes, suddenly became bigger things and honestly, more expensive things.  *light bulb!!!* thomas rang me up for my oil change and asked if they had any scheduled appointments that i could pay for.  he looked at me a little odd...

sadness

on the way home from DD {{bc apparently there was NO preschool today for jk...it's no prob, really...we just rushed around and scrambled and got in the car and then when we got there and there was no school...well, there were tears...thus DD}} , there came a moment of sincere sadness in my heart. jk: " mommy, i want to look like brookie" "why sweetie? you are the perfect jada" jk: "i don't like my brown skin. i want peach skin like brookie" i just sank. does that not make ur heart want to break? a 3 yo is struggling already with her skin being different. then, this happened: brooke: "jada, god made you and he loves you. he does it all right the very first time" then, i think my heart grew three sizes . jada threw a big smile up on her face and said, "ok. god loves me" now, if we all could just do that. god loves us...he doesn't make mistakes...he makes perfect works of art. sometimes there are scratches in the art.

tuesday tribute---for tuesday

go blog yourself has been on my reading list for quite sometime...and so i really came to love little tuesday whitt and her whole sweet fam and became involved in praying for them in tuesday's battle with that stinky neuroblastoma . tuesday's parents are totally amazing...they inspire me! although tuesday went to play with jesus not so long ago, there have been so many people that are changed because of the courage and strength and honesty of the whitt family. on the day of celebration of tuesday's life, a number of folks who couldn't make it out to the funeral, took their kids on a 'wagie ride', which was one of tuesday's fav things. we all posted up our pics...shared our experiences with each other...and hugged our kiddos a little tighter. my kiddos wagie ride is here . from that precious little tuesday and her honorary wagie ride, a blog spawned...of course...and it is dedicated to nothing more than, in their words, "to keep track of lives touc
