junk in the trunk

I want to be skinny.
I am not skinny...I am short and well, squatty.

I hate that...and i'm am really working on my body image. i must not be the only one...we as women spend over $40 billion a year (hello deficit) to go on diets, take pills and a variety of other things to make us skinnier.

then there are my girls...tall and thin...
{my girls tell me how beautiful i am all the time (probably because hubby does that)}

so apparently my #2 and #3 think a little extra padding is a good thing. this is how i find them playing mommy.

a little junk in the trunk

now those are some massive hips...i think she's even trying to pull off a little cellulite

and see how pleased they are with their new bodies...

not exactly washboard, but tea tray abs!!

I am reminded by my girls (again, i know) that my beauty is not from the outside and not really just from the inside...my beauty is to come solely from seeking to be beautiful for the Lord who created me.  He created me (and you) and said, "it is very good".   i am defined not by my appearance or my clothes or my things...

So I am led to 1 Timothy 2:8-10...read and think...then pray.

"Since prayer is at the bottom of all this, what I want mostly is for men to pray—not shaking angry fists at enemies but raising holy hands to God. And I want women to get in there with the men in humility before God, not primping before a mirror or chasing the latest fashions but doing something beautiful for God and becoming beautiful doing it." 1 tim 2-8-10

So i leave you with my girls image of beauty...and a reminder that we are fearfully and wonderfully made...read it yourself in Psalm 139.  Actually, to be honest, I am perfect.  Wow...now that's amazing!

Check out Full of Joy's blog today...it's more than amazing...and full of great reminders!

I love it! Your girls are so sweet. It I only had some junk in the trunk, I wouldn't look like a stomach with legs. (Now there's visual.) Thanks for the reminder on where true beauty comes from. It is so easy to forget.

Thats so funny! My son when he was about that age thought it was hilarious to see the cartoons where the characters ate and ate and ate until they got really BIG. So he would put blankets, pillows or whatever he could get ahold of down his pants and up his shirt to make himself BIG and laugh. One day he even split the seam in his pants!

D! I needed that today!! I have a horrible self image problem and I need to be reminded every once and a while that I am perfect and that I am made just the way God wants me to be! Thank you so much for posting this blog! The girls make me laugh and reading this blog will help me throughout the weekend (especially for the dance coming up). I'll read 1 Timothy 2:8-10 before I go to the dance!!

Love ya!!

Love the junk in the trunk! They are too cute.
What a blessing it is to serve a God who has given us a book of reminders of what true beauty looks like.
